Someone might have said the same about books yet it is up to oneself to choose what to obtain out of internet using, book reading, tv watching and so on.

I disagree. Not everyone who uses a computer alot is into gaming and porn. I am into my computer to learn and become more aware. I also like to joke around alot. I could care less about American Idol, Lady GaGa, Facebook, etc.

Well, I learned more on the Internet than any teacher has ever taught me. The education systems are fucking horrible. My neighbors are teachers, and the two put together can barely pass 6th grade spelling.

The Internet is the best and most important discovery of this century. The Internet is the next step in the evolution of a unified consciousness.

I totally agree the internet has lots of benefits.

It has the potential to accentuate both positive traits and negative traits....and can be a wonderful therapy tool if one is capable and willing to be brutally honest with themselves.

i come from a generation that predates the ubiquitous use of microwaves. there was a time when a person had a question about just about anything, he would have to consult an encyclopedia. one that was usually several years old.

or you could go to a library, there to find sources of information, also dated.

maybe, if you were very lucky pbs would air a documentary on your topic of interest.

to me, the internet is a miraculous tool for an inquisitive mind. google anything, and there are reams of information. stuff that would have taken days to accumulate in the 60s and 70s.

don' like it, don't use it. i for one, wouldn't go back for the world.

As an engineer-techie it is an excellent reference desk at home. I grocery shop online...I am disabled...they deliver.

I download music and video from Apple and Amazon...

I can seach aircraft/automobile/DIY Electronics all day long for cheap. Great if you are sick.

No I get more real news and am able to do research on subjects that interest Me. It is like anything else in this world, a tool that can be used for positive or negative intent.
