Honey the unpasturized kind also. You can seal a wound with it and many nutritional advantages. The way the price of it is going it will be worth huge when all the bees die off.

Honey stores forever also. They have found honey stored over hundreds of years and it was perfect.

Of course, yes a shotgun. There is always a chance someone will happen upon me while turtling. But I don't want to have to use so it'll be a last ditch thing. I'm not adverse to protecting myself, but having an altercation could give away my position to others and dealing with a body will, I assume, waste a lot of energy.

Why deal with a body. There is going to be so many bodies lying arouns after SHTF it won't even be funny. The crows will take care of everything.

I don't know what everybody elses take on SHTF is but I have a gut feeling that it will be beyond our imaginings. Complete destruction in area's. Total wipe outs.

You will need a little rabbit hole to stay in for a few days. In ground will be your only hope as it happens. The you pop your head up and restart with whats left and what you can find.

I think we are on the verge of a pole shift.

Well, as my point was to hunker down and not be seen; I'd just assume not be doing that next to a rotting corpse.

Inflateable raft for all sorts of reasons. Small one.

Your supposed to have all your wood cut and stacked ahead of time.

If your heading for the woods you should have a destination already and supplies hid at said destination already.

Heading out blind in the woods not a good idea.

If your to lazy to drive out a preplanned route and abck up route. Have found a place to ditch then you are too lazy to survive. If your not doing this for yourself then you ain't going to make it anyways.

You could have axes and shovels and tents and camping supplies well hid in the groung where nobody could find it and all you would have to do is get there.

You end up with way more stuff in the end and could go on foot if you have too.

People don't think enough.

Again, knee-jerk response without actually reading. I'm going to turtle. I'm going to keep my head down and try to be invisible. Any noise will carry a long way once the machines stop running. Smoke is a sign that could lead to my resources. If I can keep down long enough for the monkeys to kill each other off. I can then use wood for cooking and heat as the starving masses will be down to a more manageable level. It has nothing to do with being lazy. It's all about being smart. I don't like to say it but I hope there's lots of 'not lazy' pseudo-survivalist fairly close by. They will, hopefully, draw lots of attention away from me.

We are all in different environments and envision somewhat different dooms. These factors will of course affect preps.

I expect economic doom where society doesn't completely collapse. Crime will sky rocket and misery will increase, but fuel and energy will be available at high cost. Besides food my preps are geared toward long term survival. I intend to farm. I've been buying tractor implements and will get a tractor this Fall. I've been getting hoes, shovels, buckets, seeds, fertilizer, etc. The idea is that as long as I can come up with about 30 gallons of gas a year then I can produce vast amounts of food that can not only feed my extended family, but also be used as a cash or barter crop.

I live in a semi-rural area of Arkansas with lots of family nearby. We even have a 65 acre plot of land that is in a family trust. It has three wells, two ponds, lots of woods and a fertile creek bottom. Hopefully my family would have this land to keep us alive. Otherwise I'll be share cropping.
