30 Second Update - Russian Meteor Shot Down:CONFIRMED?

Maybe TPTB lied about the incoming speed, which would not surprise me. They lie about every thing else.

TPTB have weapons you cant even imagine so I dont think hitting it with a projectile of soem sort is impossible but then you have to question why would they in the first place especially that late.

Why turn a large projectile into 1000 projectiles and shotgun a city.

Or maybe they actually thought it was something else and not a meteorite.

They don't have to travel that speed, for example on some anti-nuke missiles the targeting information is done by the ETU before the launch and strike the warhead just as it comes over the flight path. Not saying it's the case here but it's rather old school technology and you'd more than likely see it come from the bottom of the screen from a ground launch, another words it'd be very apparent.

White hot from extreme heat of traveling through upper atmosphere at velocity >20K mph, the thing was exploding/disintegrating--and it only took a few seconds from start to finish, although the sound waves took a while.

UFO? The object moves much faster then the meteor. Angle doesn't have anything to do with it. It comes in from behind the meteor and comes out from the front. Maybe we indeed have space friends helping us after all

It splits apart immediately after. Right from the impact spot.

Earth's scientist were looking at an asteroid and missed a big rock which would have done much damage if allowed to impact intact.

People never read my old threads from a few years back. Earth is a protected planet. Those,"out there", have been doing some interesting things the past year shielding the planet from the sun on more than one occasion. Now a big meteor.

See how the pulse just appears out of nowhere and moves forward through the meteor and continues on without deflection before vanishing. The best way to explain this multidimensional weapon is to compare it to the venerable Photon torpedo. Though the technical aspect is quite different it provides an apt frame of reference.

Or you can believe Russia got lucky; or you can believe Russia had money to develop a mysterious defense shield. Whatever floats your boat......

Track it yes, but catch up to it, NOT A FUCKING CHANCE>..

I've heard of the rail gun but I'm having difficult conceiving how it could be aimed to target an object moving at incredible speeds? How would the projectile track the target? I assumed the rail gun was designed to hit stationary targets (or at least ones traveling at a limited speed).

it's impossible for conventional weapons to travel at those
speeds...dont think RUSSIA is that far advance...maybe some type of laser

They have computers that work out the trajectory.

All they have to do is calculate how much to lead the target.

The slowest meteor is 11 km/sec and up to 70 km/sec. Your railgun, 3.5 km/sec. Ain't gonna happen.

The railgun does not have to shoot faster then the meteor.

It just has to be in the same place at the same time...

It does not have to catch up. As long as the rock can be tracked in all 4 dimensions you can fire whatever at it to intercept it.

The target acquisition and tracking system would be the "wtf" piece of military hardware.

It does look like something shot it apart. Good thing, too or else the outcome woudl have been much worse.

However, if they did shoot it down with a missile traveling at 20,000mph, they will NEVER admit it (that they have the tech).

The railgun projectile hit the meteor on its side.

It didnt come from behind and shoot past it.

You have to look at the angle, it came in from the side and came out the other side.

this was my other thought.

They can calculate the trajectory of the projectile that they fire but the same can't be said for an incoming meteor which breaks apart in composition and would subsequently be changing speed/direction/trajectory as it descends. I respect your theory but on my end it doesn't seem feasible IMHO. If something were to 'shoot down' a meteor the projectile would need to be able to track the heat signature of the meteor and adjust it's trajectory on the fly while traveling at an insane velocity.

If you read further along the article, you'll see 5800 m/s confirmed speeds as well, from years ago.

And do you think anything on Wiki is even a decade within current undisclosed military technology?

Russia is full of industrial closed cities and power plants. They've been experimenting with high-energy weapons for decades. I doubt they're far behind the US if at all.

Railguns are not heat seeking.

They calculate the speed and the trajectory and lead the target to hit it.


They can bring missiles out of the sky with a Rail Gun.


The same principle here, the meteor was coming in at a known angle and speed.

How about an illudium Q-36 explosive space modulator?

Then the fragments would be traveling faster then the meteor itself.. which is highly unlikely.

So you think we can detect an incoming meteor, identify what it is, determine a launch and intecept path, launch an interceptor, and then intercept it all within 10 to 15 seconds.

Are ya sure???? Seems it's getting crazier by the second.

Look, something obviously caught up with the meteor and blew it apart.

You can SEE it impact, then the meteor break apart, and the mass suddenly starts losing altitude fast.

We can debate what actually did hit the meteor all we want...

But there's no way in Hell a chunk of the meteor broke off, and then caught up with, and exploded, the meteor. That's impossible.
