To all of those out there saying this is a bad idea, it's not worth dying for or let the political process work. The political process is broken. For almost a century a plan has been in place to make sure it broke down. Our schools have been hijacked as well as our media to make people forget what made our country great and why our constitution is so important and what it's true purpose is, limiting the power of government. And voter fraud is so rampant elections hardly matter anymore.

As far as dying goes, how many people have gave their lives to defend the constitution? It would be a disgrace to let all those lives have been lost in vain. It's a shame that so many people have become pussified. There are still real men out there though. Maybe they're not wearing suits everyday and drinking Starbucks after getting their eye brows waxed, but they are out there. The same kind of men who said "Fuck this shit!" after Pearl Harbor and joined the army. The same men who said "Fuck this shit!" and took up arms against the largest military in the world during the revolutionary war.

Yes many lives were lost, but those people believed in something, they had principles and they were worth dying for! We will not stand by and watch these select few assholes take away our 2nd amendment rights. We KNOW where that ends. It ends with a very select few having control of a populace of slaves. Like I said earlier they have a plan, it's been in place a long time now and the biggest goal of that plan is to disarm the American people. That is why it is so important to stop this RIGHT now! If we give them an inch today tomorrow they take a mile. Stand up now, because this isn't just about gun control, it's about finally taking lady liberty off life support.

You're thinking in a Linear fashion. If the purpose of firearms ownership were recreational & personal protection only, you would have a solid point. Current Hunting restrictions only allow for so many shells and bullets in a gun at one time anyway and it doesn't take a 75 round drum to protect one's home against an intruder. So, from that standpoint, one can easily see the common sense of your points.

But, what you're not understanding is the true purpose of the 2nd Amendment. In reality, the intent of the 2nd Amendment is to offer equal force against a government gone bad so that the population has a means of throwing off such government if all else fails. Granted, we the People don't have modern tanks, fighters, bombers & artillery pieces but you must understand something; for every soldier with a gun, pilot with a plane, it takes 10 or 20 people to keep them supplied and active. All of they aforementioned are combat ineffective without fuel, proper maintenance, supplies etc.

While 30 round magazines & 75 round drums may not overcome an F-16, it could and would play havoc with its support system. This is the principal reason why these guns and mags are important.

Now, you may take issue with the necessity of that whole concept, but alas, this is the defining difference between your country and ours. The United States of America is supposed to be a Nation of the People, By the People and For the People. Our role as citizens extends beyond the vote. We are in fact the guardians of that Liberty & if we allow the 2nd Amendment to be watered down to British levels, by default, we will lose our ability to protect ourselves from a corrupt government should it become so bad that we had to throw it off.

So, regardless of your viewpoints, please try to understand why the 2nd Amendment is codified into the Bill of Rights. It has been stated that the beauty of the 2nd Amendment is that its not really needed until the government that its supposed to protect you against tries to take it away. Well, they are trying to take it away right now.

Perhaps now, even if you don't agree, at least you can more fully understand why Oathkeepers is taking the stand they are and encouraging Americans to stand firm.
