If so, does grass fed dairy taste differently than commercial grain fed?

I'm located in Michigan. I guess it's like jacking off a cow if you do it by hand. Most farms use vacuum milkers now. I'm guessing only the really small farms or amish farms still do it by hand though.

Raw milk is delicious. Ironically I'm not a milk fan, but I do enjoy the occasional glass straight from the cow. We have a massive super cooler that turns it from body temperature to 38 degrees in seconds. It's much better than from the store.

Our cows are not grass fed, but they do have a very specific diet to maximize milk production. It's a hay/corn silage diet with soybean, corn gluten, some grass, and various minerals. We milk over 700 cows and have about 1500 cows total on our farm. Way too many cows to roam in a pasture and eat a strictly grass based diet.

Yeah, I have a fucking question. You are a dairy man, but you might still have the answer. Where the fuck are all the meat cows?? MOOOO.....

I mean we must eat about the equivalent of a million cows a day in the US. Where are these mother fuckers located? I have traveled far and wide on the US roadways. I see dairy farms, but not many eaters. Yeah, I know, Texas, Nebraska, blah, blah, blah. Are we eating horse or Chinese cattle?

It's winter so we obviously don't have any crops in the ground right now besides our alfalfa, but last year was really, REALLY bad. A lot of the smaller farms unfortunately went under, especially if they couldn't afford crop insurance.

We've been getting a lot of precipitation this winter in my location of Michigan, and our drought level is back to normal. I hear in the central plains they are in big trouble. From all the meetings I've been at this winter it's looking like corn prices will go up, which means food prices will be on the rise. It's a legitimate concern.

We did use BST many years ago, but we stopped using it about 6 or 7 years ago. I'm not sure if it's technically banned in Michigan or not, but we stopped using it and so did all the farmers I know of around here.
