why do people not question authority?
but they question YOU for questioning.

I don't question the authority of people's Gods.

I just ask for them to tell their gods that if they want to speak with me, please do. I have plenty of questions that the followers don't seem to have answers for

but I'm the deceiver LOL

I don't deceive myself into thinking I'm BETTER than anybody else

that kind of puts you in the EGOTISTICAL spectrum. I sleep on the floor. If I got any lower I'd be a ROOT

People need to realize I am not their enemy. I don't even KNOW you. LUKEWARM CHRISTIANS, get used to the phrase OK

people. All the technology in the world, STILL CANNOT FIGURE OUT SIMPLE TRANSLATIONS

and at one point WE thought we were all that was going...

Sigh

Re: why do people not question authority?
I agree.

As a child I was taught to "obey" to respect your elders, still call anyone more than 10 years older than me Mr. or Mrs. never was big on calling friends parents by their first names or teachers.

But this blind obedience is dangerous, no man should blind another to what is right.

Everyone is at risk when we give up our will to another.

I believe women are especially vulnerable as we are taught to always be considerate of others feelings.

Kind of off topic, but I see how we are defeated as a people when we allow ourselves to be divided.

It doesn't matter which side we choose in any separation, when we choose a side we have been deceived and have lost our way.

It is in my nature to "believe" what I'm told, and even though I don't believe much any more I'm catching myself daily with beliefs I should have questioned.

I have four grown children and I taught them all to question authority !! Any time they did, I always gave them the benefit of the doubt, too. Also, after doing some fact checking, if I felt they were right... I stood up with them and covered their backs. - I gave my kids the respect that I expected from them.

What I told them was this:

Not all adults are always right. - just me LOL
Not everyone in uniform has your best interest in mind.

authority really doesn't like to be questioned. those who do are a threat to its legitimacy. it will get rid of you, or punish/humiliate you into submission.

I applaud you and that story warms my heart.

I was taught how to read between the lines but I was not allowed to question outright. It was more of negotiation. That is why MIND games are not exactly going to work unless I allow them to.

it's just the rules of science. you stay even you don't get out of balance. Too out of balance CORRECTION HURTS

I don't look at people any better than me.

Me too, my kids were taught to question everything, I hope it works out in the end, but having a bit of a rough spot with my 17 year old son who thinks school is stupid.

Unless you are self employed it is a necessary to respect your boss even it you question them privately.

My gripe with all religion is the necessity to give up your free will while they teach you that God gave us free will.

authority figures- SHOULD ONLY BE ON PAPER SO WE CAN ALL SEE HOW IT ADDS UP

Expert opinions- why do experts give opinions? I mean if it is an opinion TECHNICALLY it's not a fact right? So now I'm not even good enough to be told the truth?

I don't object to being questioned. I answer what I am asked... what happens is that often it is SUGGESTED that I am perhaps wrong for not allowing them to TREAD on me. not quite the same.

most reactionary people don't even question why. I lost all choices in my life and was left stuck from ALL the people I let dump on me, when I was stuck F me

so I'm fine. they have their lives. Communication is a two way street, but I am done putting myself in the lives and issues of things that clearly can't even respect me enough to give me a courtesy call.

LOL Maybe your son is right about school being "stupid". Maybe he has to deal with teachers who are only collecting a paycheck and not being bothered to "teach". If he is intelligent and disciplined, you might allow him to check out some of the "online high schools" that work in conjunction with local school districts. One of my granddaughters just graduated doing that, and she has already been accepted for college (shoot... I can't remember which one. LOL) Anyway, it worked for her and she's very intelligent.

You realize you come off as a dick. You ridicule other people's religion because of the commonly known fact that most religions don't involve audible dialogue. You sleeping on the floor is either out of necessity, which would be better, or to hiddenly aggrandize oneself in their own privacy. I could see a timid, non confrontational person doing something similar but that's not you. You even go on to brag about your humility, comparing your lowness to a root's.

The lack of questioning is the choice to relinquish responsibility for personal existence.

Once responsibility is retaken, who then becomes the authority to question?
