Is God the only one of his kind?
Genesis 1:26
"Then God said, "Let US make man in OUR image, in OUR likeness"

Exodus 20:3
"You shall have no other gods before me."

Does God acknowledge other beings (ie Greek, Nordic, Egyptian gods) who are perceived as "gods" by man?

Who were God's contemporaries, who were His peers?!?!

Then in Isaiah 44:6
"There is no God Beside Me"

What the heck am I supposed to make of these contradicting statements?

Re: Is God the only one of his kind?
When you are re-born of the Holy Spirit God adopts you into His family. Do a word search in the NT for "sons of God" you will get the drift. It's everywhere in the Bible starting with the temple, God dwelt in the Temple, that is symbolic for God dwelling inside His Family.

Why do you think God gave up His right to exist solely, and instead became a man, Jesus Christ? Yes He is a man, He bled, He died, and He lives now for us. So I could say Us. That is the eternity future, Family of God, Body of Christ. So in some way, somehow, God was foreshadowing this new reality in the Old Testament. That is how God communicates to us now in this mortal form.

But note that Christ is King, that is He is the Head of the Body, He is King for eternity. We are His subjects, but He calls us Brothers.

Heb 2:17

Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God.

Angels, or the celestial hosts, called sons of God in Job 38:7.

He likes participants in His works, and I speculate whether different beings or groups of them are responsible for each of the differing human races. He may have given them certain parameters to work with, and maybe they each came up with their own variation? Just a thought.

God is just ability.

And ability can be created.

The force is a creation.

Their is only one supreme creator of all..

"The Lord Of The Universe"
"Lord Of The Light And Of The Darkness"

All else is part of his creation.

Their simply never can be any competition to the Lord, nothing else could ever begin to compare.

And their is no need to compete :) All, including you and I is part of it!

End of story.

Re: Is God the only one of his kind?
Well, I have 4 cats. They love me. They really like my fiance, but all of them come to me for the loves. If some stranger to my house came over and was dickin around in my house and then decides to try to win over the affections of my cats, they all pretty much hide or when they do come out, it will be more because of curiosity, not love. If they were lured with kitty treats, that might change one of their minds. Kind of like false gods giving out promises.

But how I see it as, let's say there was a god school. All soon to be gods must attend before becoming a god (ok, this is all hypothetical, not for real), so there is, oh say, 1500 god students each year. Then they finish college, some friends with one another, and others very jaded and angry and spiteful of other students. Kinda like Harry Potter, idk...lol.

So they all get to make their own universes with their own rules and all universes are contained in some sort of container that god keeps us in and maybe they just leave it at their house. Ok, now say one of those frenemies from school lives next door to a just god. He goes in and wreaks havoc all over the place. God has to try to step in and fix things, realizing what had happened. But the point here is, these Loki dudes might go into someone elses universe and destroy shit. "God" would be saying it straight. We're his creatures and that's that.

Basically that fits the many gods but none are gods of this universe, just him/her/it.

Perhaps there were others, but after a major battle, He was the only one left.

So he got lonely and created a planet filled with creatures to play with.

I guess he had some buddies on the ship he landed in. Yes, he cares no matter the form he took or takes. That commanding presence is all we need to acknowledge.

PS thank you whoever gave me one star, you have what some would call a "toxic ideology." One who refuses to question his own beliefs.

Eze 1:24 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
