HAD ALL THIS before the large meteor passed by, BUT, NO ONE payed attention to it. It was OTHER smaller meteors accompanying the large one, as shown by the spikes AND the debris trails, as they were called.
HOW STUPID can scientist/NASA be to be DELIBERATELY SHOW US the DATA, and then for people NOT to pick this up ? We gather data and pay NO attention to it ?

It say's also that it was a 10 cm waveburst, that's a short wavelength. The ones they measuring the meteorites with are longer, meters VS cm. So they can maybe filter this out.

Does anyone know how big an area of the sky one of those rectangular grids represents?

Eos, from the solarham page.

Begin Time: 2013 Feb 17 1547 UTC
Maximum Time: 2013 Feb 17 1547 UTC
End Time: 2013 Feb 17 1551 UTC Duration: 4 minutes
Peak Flux: 340 sfu
Description: A 10cm radio burst indicates that the electromagnetic burst associated with a solar flare at the 10cm wavelength was double or greater than the initial 10cm radio background. This can be indicative of significant radio noise in association with a solar flare. This noise is generally short-lived but can cause interference for sensitive receivers including radar, GPS, and satellite communications.

I din't read the whole thing, so it looks like it can disrupt those readings, when such a radioburst is strong enough.

can anyone explain what we are seeing here? It seems a bit long for a meteor. The big one has been ongoing now for a couple of minutes...

Some people here mentioned that it could be related to spaceweather. There was a flare today.

aha, good resource--thanks again :)

looks like a beautiful if somewhat cool afternoon here on the east coast U.S., so i'm going out for awhile.

amazing to see what a buffeting our dear earth takes all the time..we should all be sure not to add insults to her injury. seriously, i should be riding a bike, not driving a car.

from a more spiritual view, i think it no wonder many feel "tired" like they cannot fight anymore.

well, you know...don't fight. don't struggle. don't strive.
just be, breathe.

Weak Shock Detected
The ACE Spacecraft detected a weak interplanetary shock at 10:58 UTC this morning. The solar wind increased to around 400km/s. A sudden geomagnetic impulse was detected by the Boulder, Colorado magnetometer at 12:10 UTC and measured 10nT. This signaled the passage of the weak shock past our planet. This particular event is not expected to bring widespread geomagnetic disturbances.
<snip>

Induced Currents - Weak power grid fluctuations can occur.
Aurora - Aurora may be visible at high latitudes such as Canada and Alaska.

SUMMARY: Geomagnetic Sudden Impulse
Observed: 2013 Feb 16 1210 UTC
Deviation: 10 nT

Flares only last between 1 - 10 minutes they are not the same as CME's that can last a while as they come through.

EOS, you could be right about that, but does it not always take some time to reach Earth? Solarwind seems to be slower then normal.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24941531

dr, Astro pleae settle our minds and tell us if this is something to really fret about... as i dont think i am the only one who has been watching this....but i have been tracking this for around 30 hours now and it has been happening since before then i hear... what is happening...

Eos, the first one I did see on that Tamworth graph was 10:10 UTC so it was some time before that impact on 12:10 UTC recorded by that Colorado station.
That first anomaly stopped at about 10:34 UTC.

So they may not be related.

But have a nice day and enjoy, it's already late here (22:42)

Yes it would be nice if someone could clear this up in a logical and understandible way. If this is Dr Astro or someone else with this knowledge I don't mind.

Meteors, and readings on Meteor Detection Grid and the anomalies we seeing there. But we also checking if it is solar related.
