Yes, I remember most of these formula's I studied electronics in the '80 ,but I endend up working for more then 20 years in the Polyester industry. Had a CB radio (27Mhz) as wel then, and before I had a real Antenna, I made one myself and tuned it with a coil to 1/4 Lambda wich gave a total lenght of 2.75 meters. Later I had a 5.5 meter 1/2 Lambda antenna on a mast, with radials.

Hello everybody. I did some more research and found this. [link to www.radiodesignservices.co.uk] It explains how such meteor detection works. For example the Merriot and the Tamworth graph are tuned in on the transmitter called G.R.A.V.E.S on 143.050 MHz and is located in Dijon, France. Here is a picture of it. [link to i1274.photobucket.com] On this picture you can see the area wich is covered by the Sheddar Graph. [link to static.tumblr.com] So you see it is very localised. The frequency of 143.050 is also very near on the 144 MHz band used by Dutch amateur radio, so if you happen to have a Ham radio or receiver that also covers those frequencies, you can tune in that, that is if you live near enough to such radar transmitting station. I'm also looking in the forum of that Meteor detection site if there is some mention of anomalies. One thing I already found is that they can also detect satelites and also spacestations like the ISS. Greetings Fred Flintstone
