the first line is correct. America was not established to be a democracy. It was established to be a republic. There's a huge difference. A republic is Rule by the people. All issues are brought to a vote and there must be unanimous acceptance in order to make change. This insures that changes are difficult and require compromise and teamwork.

a democracy is Rule by the majority. In a democracy, the minority loses every time. If the majority wants to make a change they simply make the change. There is no compromise. There is no teamwork. A democracy is them versus us.

a republic is 'what's best for us', a democracy is 'what's best for me.'

Americans have been lied to for a century now. Learn the fucking pledge of allegiance. It's a fucking republic!
