And yes, we are polluting the environment too, that's a given.

But the "co2" issue (it's more than just co2) is also true. What we are doing has never happened before in the history of humanity: since the dawn of the industrial age, we've been exponentially increasing gasses into the air that should not be there at those levels! That is also fact. The closest nature comes during the history of the planet is when there were massive volcanic eruptions dumping their plumes all over the place, leading to mass extinctions and yes, climate change.

So again: Climate change is a combination of factors, and humans are busily, blindingly pushing the scales and destabilizing all of these natural cycles!
