More true than you might think. Stop and think about it for a second folks; every time we (the U.S.) hears mere rumors of a new way of countering our military tech, let alone a test version of something, the military-industrial complex pumps billions and billions of dollars into a new generation of fighters, carriers, guns, drones, etc.

And the fact that there's never a full production run of said counter-tech doesn't matter. By that point, we've already pumped billions of dollars into our own projects, thus increasing our debt.

Our enemies have gotten smarter. They know they can't really take us in a shooting war. But they can cause us to economically damage ourselves.
