Well, Vietnam is interesting. America was never defeated militarily in Vietnam. Yes, the United States ended the "conflict", and "strategically withdrew". However, the goal of Vietnam was to "contain communism". I'm not sure if you realize this or not, but the Soviet Union collapsed more than 20 years ago. There are market economies emerging everywhere. These countries are gradually becoming more and more capitalistic. The premise behind this is the "modernization theory". The banks and international corporations that control our government have defeated communism.
