RUSSIAN METEOR DESTROYED BY UFO - Hits It DEAD-ON, then SPEEDS PAST IT!! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 33832742 United States 02/17/2013 06:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's a speck of dirt stuck on the car windscreen that appears to catch up with the image of the meteor in the line of sight of the camera, then moves away again as the angle of the flight path of the meteorite relative to the camera changes due to the car changing direction to follow the meteor trail. The change in direction of the sunlight hitting the windscreen causes the speck (which was dark because it was momentarily blocking the sun's light) to vanish because some of the light reflected off the windscreen glass instead of passing through it. There are some good comparisons to be made with these and the UFO video, I believe. The difference will be that the UFO was probably going a trillion times faster than the skeet shot! This one has lots of excellent examples of trajectory (is that dark thing flinging to the side on every shot the casing? I know nothing about skeet shots): “Clay pigeon breaking in slow motion” "Clay Target Breaking in Slow Motion" This makes me want to shoot skeet, except I don’t think the birdies or the animals would like the noise! “Trap Shooting Silver Seitz Skeet Sporting Clay Pigeons” |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 34494403 Canada 02/17/2013 06:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Some things to keep in mind about Russia: Russia is a large, paranoid, militaristic country speckled with heavy industry closed cities that house tens of thousands of people to work in a single uranium enrichment facility. They have the largest amount of airspace to defend in the world, and also probably the world's largest ballistic defense program. They have radar structures the size of office buildings. They have the best watched airspace in the world. A 50-foot wide space rock is MUCH easier to track than, say, a radar-cutting stealth aircraft. It has a massive heat signature, massive profile, easily identifiable shape to computers... they probably knew it was coming down days ago. The meteor was going to land on a VERY BAD piece of land, which happens to be one of the most irradiated places on earth, and still holds a host of nuclear facilities. As in, if that meteor came down full force, it could have ended life on the planet. The whole atmosphere would be full of decades of dumped Soviet radioactive particles. If Russia had ANY idea of the trajectory, it would be their absolute mandate to destroy the rock by any means possible, even at the risk of revealing the capabilities of their best anti-air systems. Do you guys know what the odds are of a meteor hitting THAT particularly radioactive part of huge-ass Russia? Astronomically small. I've seen it suggested another power may have even "steered" the space rock for this very reason, to find out for sure if Russia has kinetic anti-air systems in place. And those of you doubting the Kinetic Railgun theory: The US is mounting them on battleships, publicly. That means it's decades old technology if it's being shown off. If you can fire a large metal beam at supersonic speeds using the nuclear reactor on a floating ship, imagine what you could do with the energy from an actual power plant facility at your disposal. Russia is lousy with 'em. |

But after seeing this, I now have to give it another look, and I hope you do, too! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14481131 Please weigh in on whether or not this is the real thing. "Chelyabinsk meteorite Urals Russia 02/15/13" everybody in russia has dashcams because insurance fraud is so common, people will either jump in front of ur car or back into you in order to claim insurance or file a lawsuit. im considering getting a cheap cam just in case, less than 100 bucks they have good ones. its better than insurance going up or a lawsuit being filed that results in thousands of dollars. They could have exploded this harmlessly in space, rather than letting it almost hit us, and allowing people to be hurt in the process. That may seem to be looking a gift "terminator" in the mouth, but I prefer to deal with facts, not wishful thinking, and I'm sure most GLP-ers do, too. Love the "Truman" photo - perfect! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1128877 Thread: Russian Meteor Hit by Ufo or missile is faked? There are, in my opinion, valid opinions on both sides. Just some random thoughts, in no particular order: The "terminator," as I'm going to call it, appears out of nowhere, and then disappears when the job is over. This may be little more than an interesting fact - doesn't really prove its reality. When you look at the long-range view of the meteor coming into view, you can, or at least I can, really see the point at which the terminator hit it. I'm not sure the whole thing isn't a satellite-generated hologram, but I do think I can see the point in time when the terminator hit. That is actually one reason I originally thought the whole meteor thing was a hoax, before knowing about the terminator. It started out looking like a meteor, but then it didn't do the damage that a meteor of that size would do, just a few broken windows, a few cuts and boo-boos, according to the news at the time. I don't know what they're claiming for damage now. Also, not knowing about the terminator, the trajectory of the meteor didn't make any sense. But the bright light that shone over the city seemed real, and related to a celestial body of great brightness, so that was confusing. Not normal meteor behavior, but some aspects that were "meteoric," I guess you could say. Where are all the pieces? Shouldn't they be just about everywhere, considering how this thing broke up? ARE they everywhere, but we just don't know yet? I've been trying to get bills paid this morning, and haven't seen the latest news, so maybe EVERYTHING has changed, lol. If it was a hologram or a hoax, it's VERY well created! The physics look right, for the speed and the size and the behavior of this terminator, as far as one could guess, never having seen one before. There are, as I mentioned earlier, other threads from past years that said a UFO destroyed a meteor. I've tried to find them since I did the search before creating the thread, but I haven't had any luck. There are more, and I'll post them as they come to mind. Thanks for your post! |
