RUSSIAN METEOR DESTROYED BY UFO - Hits It DEAD-ON, then SPEEDS PAST IT!! | |
Matrix-V User ID: 32905635 Canada 02/18/2013 08:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's a speck of dirt stuck on the car windscreen that appears to catch up with the image of the meteor in the line of sight of the camera, then moves away again as the angle of the flight path of the meteorite relative to the camera changes due to the car changing direction to follow the meteor trail. The change in direction of the sunlight hitting the windscreen causes the speck (which was dark because it was momentarily blocking the sun's light) to vanish because some of the light reflected off the windscreen glass instead of passing through it. Anonymous Coward User ID: 33464940 Canada 02/18/2013 08:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Interesting! Here's what it says: With all of this buzz going on with the recent meteor in Russia I thought some of you would like to read up a little on this if you haven't already. It was on Ancient Aliens a while back. Read it, and notice the location where they claim it is and compare it to this 'meteor shot down in Russia' event. There are two pages, read both to get all the details. ' According to many believers, these cauldrons are actually defense weapons built by ancient aliens to defend our planet against all space based threats whether by hostile aliens, asteroids or comet strikes' I think I saw that. As it mentions later in that thread, people who get near it supposedly get sick, as with some other "alien"-related sites. Someone asks "Well, why wouldn't it shoot down planes, then?" If you can make a device that can crack-shoot meteors down and fly THROUGH them, I'm sure they're savvy enough to make them able to tell the difference between a piece of space debris (meteor) and a man-made conveyance. thats my thread OP. Thanks for linking it! |

I think I've seen it on two, at least. Here's a video that has more footage than I've seen, including some inside video where the explosion pushed in with great force: "Meteorite Explosion - Russia Chelyabinsk 2/15/2013 - Asteroid expected to pass..." I hope people will keep looking and posting videos, so we can cross reference. Two observations: 1. Do the explosion patterns on the windows in the video above (in the second half, mostly) seem odd to you? 2. Why aren't we seeing more videos? Maybe because it happened so quickly? But those millions of dashcams should have been rollin'... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14481131 That's not entirely unreasonable. We kept the super-sonic and stealth planes a secret. We kept 400,000 workers, two of the largest buildings on the planet, 200 tons of fine silver, and about a tenth of the entire national budget a secret... and called it The Manhattan Project. Anonymous Coward User ID: 7362116 Australia 02/18/2013 08:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | a friend of mine who is a physics geek had this to say on it, just so happens that he was working on a project that deals with almost exactly this happening, and he already had the math done : Quoting: Mordier L'eft My theory on that object is this, and this is just a physics geek perspective and entirely hypothetical. I've no doubt I'm stretching a bit here but there is logic to it The asteroid would have debris behind it sorta like a comet but obviously no where near the same scale and most of it I would expect to be pebble sized at most. However it's not unrealistic that on its journey something may have knocked some chunks off. They would continue in the same orbit speed and everything else if small enough, assuming of course whatever caused it to break off was just as simple as heat from the sun or some such. An impact would have sent pieces in a different orbit and speed. So lets assume the above occurred and you have a chunk of asteroid following right behind the main piece. The large mass hits the atmosphere almost like hitting a brick wall. Except that brick wall causes the front of the asteroid to heat to crazy temps near instantaneously, the rear stays deep space cold. Basically this is just heavy friction more or less. Anyways, this causes the explosion we see on all these videos and at the same time this effect is occurring to cause the explosion its forcing the object to slow down at a massive rate. Back to my theory of trailing debris, it would not have anything close to the same mass as the main object and by itself would not have that crazy instant slow down. The atmosphere would slow it in the same fashion but at a dramatically different rate. I suspect that if it was right behind the main mass as the video implies that it may not have felt any atmospheric impact at all at this point. Thus missile like impact to the asteroid. Like a cyclist riding same speed behind a car and the car suddenly hits a bus broadside. Now the debris on the front is interesting, because of how the video is filtered to allow us to see the debris it's hard to tell for sure what stage of the explosion this is at. My gut says this is just debris from the asteroid exploding itself but it doesn't seem to me that there is enough of it. It also seems too much to says its the piece from behind shattering. It also seems like the bright explosion occurs immediately after that debris spreads off. Maybe its just the start of everything flying off from the compression of the atmosphere. Aye, now, this makes more sense. The smaller fragment seems to appear from nowhere and travels in the main object's slip-stream, overtakes or passes as the main object slows and explodes due to heat differential caused by friction of the atmosphere. The exploding pieces afterwards seem small, but then all of it goes up in a huge flash. I imagine most of it was vaporised or fragmented very small, hence no or little debris being found. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15740069 The meteor was struck by a Rail Gun Kinetic Projectile. They shot it so that it would break apart. Wrong. The speed of the 'projectile' relative to the meteor is too slow for the kinetic energy to explode it like that. Must be something else, because the object did explode after that smaller thing hit it. Not kinetic - something else. I totally agree. The object did not explode after it hit. It is definately something else. One thing is for sure, crazy crazy times we are living in. I believe we are well on our way to witnessing our past, present and future all rolled into one. The good, bad and the ugly. We may all disagree on what this is, but what we all agree on, is that it is something. I for one cannot wait to get the answers that I have been looking for almost my whole life. |

It kind of looks like something out of a sci-fi movie where a a ray of plasma or some other highly energetic beam of particles. If it was a man made DP tipped heavy missile, not designed to explode.. just give a good heavy rugby tackle.. then it did well to hold together after it did it's work. Maybe it was similar to the Russian Granite 7 Ton missile, but packed with heavy stuff inside to pack a punch. If it was brave alien pilot crazy enough to crash through a fast meteor entering a planet, he, she.. or it.. whatever.. did awfully well & deserves a round of applause. If it was the Russians, then they deserve a round of applause. But the biggest round of applause goes to Mother Earth herself for swallowing up such energy so efficiently. |
