I also get the impression that some people want to be and stay chronically sick to get attention. But if you bring up that possibility, you get accused of being cruel, heartless, ignorant. They tell you that you have no idea how terrible it is to live with the disease. They defend their disease. They sound like disease dependent addicts. They complain about it and want a cure, but don't want to work for it. They think taking meds and eating healthy is doing everything.
