You can either look at this time with fear or with hope, and that of course depends on what you believe. If you believe that nothing will happen and that your physical existence is all that matters, then there is most likely nothing I can tell you that will change your mind. Our beliefs are different, and I will not judge you in the least bit for believing what you do. I ask that you show me the same courtesy. Not the Greek gods, not the Egyptian gods, not the African gods or wiccan and pagan gods. Just this ONE God in particular. If I hold a belief that all people except those that look like me are inferior - then go on to tell all people how I respect them, but in my belief they are inferior... then where have I shown any respect? I would say have you tried in earnest to call out to this God yourself, maybe you have no need to? Though I believe we will all have a need to, a loving creator will see to it. You could then say why bother preaching at all then, if God will provide a time and place for all. I am of the belief that this is all groundwork and far from pointless. You find that within (didn't Jesus supposedly say "the kingdom is within"?), not in some moldy old texts or some building with a two faced phony in the pulpit. Too much of what religion dictates has done nothing but divide and cause distrust, hate and even war. I was raised a Christian, eventually gave it up and was of the opinion that you,re born, you live, you die...that's it. I retained practicing the Golden Rule only because it's just a decent way to be. Then at 58 years of age I had a heart attack and a near death experience. My consciousness, spirit, whatever you want to call it, went on to some other place or dimension that was so wonderful I can't even put it into words. When I learned I had to come back to this life I didn't want to leave that place (you should see this life from that wonderful place! All the silly bickering, fighting, selfishness and deceit that goes on here is a pity, like little children fighting over who's turds are best or who has the most... when this existence could be a paradise if only we'd practice unconditional love). The reality is in that other place/dimension. Most don't see that because they only know this existence. I fear nothing. Not death, and no "Gods". This life is like a flash in the pan. Don't believe me? That's fine and dandy with me. But for crying out loud, give up the fighting and "I know better than you" and practice unconditional love. The Golden Rule. And quit arguing over who's complicated philosophy is right when really it's simple as the nose on your face. |

You find that within (didn't Jesus supposedly say "the kingdom is within"?), not in some moldy old texts or some building with a two faced phony in the pulpit. Too much of what religion dictates has done nothing but divide and cause distrust, hate and even war. I retained practicing the Golden Rule only because it's just a decent way to be. Then at 58 years of age I had a heart attack and a near death experience. My consciousness, spirit, whatever you want to call it, went on to some other place or dimension that was so wonderful I can't even put it into words. When I learned I had to come back to this life I didn't want to leave that place (you should see this life from that wonderful place! All the silly bickering, fighting, selfishness and deceit that goes on here is a pity, like little children fighting over who's turds are best or who has the most... when this existence could be a paradise if only we'd practice unconditional love). The reality is in that other place/dimension. Most don't see that because they only know this existence. I fear nothing. Not death, and no "Gods". This life is like a flash in the pan. Don't believe me? That's fine and dandy with me. But for crying out loud, give up the fighting and "I know better than you" and practice unconditional love. The Golden Rule. And quit arguing over who's complicated philosophy is right when really it's simple as the nose on your face. |
