And these things make the kind people loose hope in humanity, and therefore they will act in the same way sooner or later. He simply said out loud what we all would be thinking were we to temporarily lose track of an envelope containing a large amount of money. "I hope it is all there." Not a big deal. I can't believe that this is what passes for news these days. Did the guy who found the envelope return it because it was the right thing to do, or because he wanted everyone to notice what a great guy he is? I think the fact that he posted the incident on facebook answers that question Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30307430 People like you are the reason people seldom do these honest acts. Anonymous Coward User ID: 30307430 United States 02/18/2013 04:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ Later however, the priest posted the incident on Facebook commenting, "That guy never even said thank you. What a jerk!" When the owner of the inn heard about the Facebook posting, he offered the priest a gift certificate for a free night. |

She had just cashed her $800 check and hadn't paid rent yet. A good Samaritan saw it fall off, got out in traffic to get it and took it to the police station. I had told her to not panic to call the police station I saw it had been turned in. It was!!! There are good people all over. |

UNder sections 921 to 941 of the Quebec civil code, if you find something in the street and it is unclaimed after 60 days, it is yours. I was walking along and I found an Iphone, fully working. I handed it in to the Police Station, making it clear that I would like it if unclaimed. They said that that would obviously be "no hope" as they could easuily see the number on it. 61 Days later, I call the Police Dept. They called the owner who said that they had already bought a new one, didn't want the old one and could not be bothered to pick up the old one. So, was I able to claim it? No. THe Police said that they would be keeping it and splitting the proceeds and I'd get ntohgin. They said that it was my fault for being stupid enough to give to to them as the law requires. |
