That's the FDA's way of trying to legitimize itself and protect their salaries. If they were a real agency tasked with protecting citizens from bad things, we wouldn't have shit like fluoride in the water and aspartame in every pack of chewing gum. They are not an agency to protect the people. They are an agency of big pharma.
They are not there to protect you.
