ohh they are related in some ways...due to how energy and the mind works :)

This movie is indicative of what the human mind is capable of...we are all connected through quantum entanglement energetically to things around us (even inanimate objects as shown in the movie). Notice they were exposed to a high frequency light/sound that is what caused them to start having these abilities...these sound frequencies/light frequencies around us have an impact on our DNA and changed the structure of the individuals in the movie...

I could get really detailed into this but it has to do with the way our bodies/DNA are beginning to shift to higher frequencies ( a stage of rapid evolution per se), thus giving abilities we were not previously capable of...
