Would it be a smart move to trade my money for Yuan's?

Down size now and sell all your useless shit right now. Go buy a puddle jumper if you need wheels. Get rid of payments right now. Get Garden seeds and all the shit you need for a garden right now. If you fail to do these things right now in a few months you will be sucking on this advice and eating dirt. Here's the deal guys, over the next few years we will see the inevitable re-backing of currencies around the world with a basket of commodities/securities approach. The Chinese may start that process by backing the Yuan with gold, but there will not be enough in circulations to fill the demand for it, not even close. This will however, signal the end of the Dollar as the world reserve currency! Eventually, after enough Chaos has ensued that people demand a solution, each country will begin backing their currencies with the commodities/securities that they produce. Then all of these currencies will be pegged together and put under the control of a world organization (government) most likely the BIS (Bank of International Settlements). So even though your dollar will still look familiar to you, it will have a static value in relation to the Chinese Yuan. This will essentially be your world currency... This will serve two purposes, this devaluation, then eventual re-valuation of currency will solve the sovereign debt crisis. And it will put the total assets of every country under the control of the Central Banks, who in turn will be controlled by the BIS... And 90% of people will get on their knee's to thank them for saving a small pittance of the pension or 401k... Mark my words, it's coming... I respecrfully disagree. They will demand payment in full all debts and since none of you have it, you will be put out and left to die as criminal vagrants or criminal gangs, and everything you once had will revert to the bankers who wont need you. They have accumulated enough infratructure that they dont need 99% of you to provide for them anymore, even those that still can, for you and your unwashed masses far outnumber them, and, when desperate enough may indeed demand revenge and try to overwhelm their comfortable govdotorg defenses, so all of yoou dead is better for them resting in bed. The flaw in your explanation is that they dont need you anymore, indeed the general public is in the way and needs to be culled, which leaves everything automatically to revert to govdotorg ownership with no muss and no fuss.
