Can you solve a Victorian puzzle promising 'Earthly Paradise'?
A museum is calling on people to solve a cryptic150-year-old message which could hold the key to an “Earthly Paradise”.

The historic poster, thought to date from the 1860s, spells out the prize for a lottery in the form of a pictogram. But baffled museum curators cannot work out quite what the lottery is offering players.

The poster is being displayed for the first time as part of an exhibition on the history of games and gambling at Abbey House Museum in Kirkstall in Leeds.

Re: Can you solve a Victorian puzzle promising 'Earthly Paradise'?
Just one point that I wanted to bring to everyone's attention to see if there really is something here or if I am being overly analytical of this.

On the third line of the pictogram, the 3rd last word "is c____ed to the.." the picture here is assumed to be "all". However, this picture does not quite look the same as the one in the next line of the pictogram as in "by a sm____".

Is it just me, or do these 2 symbols being claimed as "all" look similar but not quite the same as each other??
