OP, another term used a lot, and quite flippantly, is the term 'reserve'.

The industry doesnt really expand upon it much, oyther than to say we have 'x' amount of reserves.

With Assumption Parish, they were forced to admit that within the Napoleon dome, quite a few reserves had been built, including the massive butane reserve, most likely to be effected by the detabilisation of the salt strata.

[Remember these salt domes are miles wide and miles deep, connected to hundreds of miles long pillows and veins.]

The holy trinity for oil is 1/. Strata type, 2/. aquifer and 3/. salt dome/deposit/vein. These elements have existed in geologic equilibrium for millions of years, until we come along and attempt to rearrange things.

Test wells indicate the likelihood of oil, and what type(s) are available.

For efficiencies sake, if located near a dome, the dome itself becomes the reservoir to hold the oil. After drilling and fracking the salt strata, water from the aquifer is fed into the dome's loosened pocket, and the process of erosion and runneling out the cavern begins.

When the oil is diverted in to the newltyformed cavern, the amount of saline water that pours/is pumped out is accurately measured. When no more water exits, and oil does, you now have calculated the volume of the cavern.

Now you can say you have a reserve of x million barrels.

That diagram on page two, shows a small reserve of a few billion gallons, and up top, the sink hole at 600m wide. What isnt shown is about 10 times the depth of salt dome, and 5 times the width of the salt dome. They be big.

And there are many of them, all with reserves of oil(s), kerosine, butane and in aquifers, even gas reserves.

That's a lot of boom.

This isnt without precedent. The Russians did exactly that with their first attempt of an extremely deep oil well. Theirs only took two years to get under control after they let off two nukes. And theirs was on dry land....

Matt Simmon's ideas were so silly - he died for them.

hello and good morning from the Gulf Of Mexico area. I have been keeping up with this disaster since the beginning. Here are some real observations of Interest to everyone on the Planet.

FIRST- The real leak site was never put on TV the whole thing was a staged event from fake people and a fake control center that was found out by reporters covering the story and online.

The real leak is ten miles away from where you saw the BOP on TV. Look it up. Now after the well started to GUSH oil over 500 degrees and under pressures some estimated up to 50-100,000 PSI was trying to come up. There is NO PIECE OF equipment KNOW that can with stand that type of pressure, NOTHING. Oil was also seen burning coming out of a collapsed pipe (FLAMES) videos online. The vent will never stop there is seismic data and scientists on ships that have reported the GULF OF MEXICO flooring has risen some 30 feet since the BP disaster. IS THIS a METHANE GLACIER melting and pushing the GULF UP?? this is happening all the way past Puerto Rico.

Fish and sea life are dying,all have massive type chemical burns even Dolphins have some type of eaten away flesh on their snouts and bodies. Shrimp deformed,fish deformed. people sick and dying,strange diseases cropping up all along the Gulf coast. METHANE coming up in the Gulf and all along the GULF Coast. Look at the sink hole in La at Bayou Corne and Alaska and now here is a picture of the Methane lake.

This disaster is ongoing. BP is in denial and so are anyone connected with this disaster. Remember BP had guns on people did not use proper safety equipment for the clean up people and BP and the USCG and anyone letting people work without safety equipment should have been charged and where was OSHA they not around. There was never any over sight.

I see A LOT of hypothesis. A lot of 3rd person stories.

I go fishing out there and not seen anything out of the ordinary. I am normally west of Macando, but the tuna, snapper, grouper, et.al. are plentiful and large and taste good.

I've not seen any big oil deposits on shore either.

Where's the evidence something is amiss?

I could be afraid all day long on stories without substance, but I refuse to fear on with could be. I could be worried about radiation from Japan. I could be worried about a big earthquake. I could be worried about SARS. All legitimate possibilities, but no real evidence something is badly amiss.

There is/was a great YT vid where a very observant fella was taking note of the GPS co-ords of the live feeds during the capping process.

Same location, on screen, but OOPS!! up to (5) different GPS coordinates!

The capped a well, but neglected to say there were 6 others spewing oil and tar in the vacinity.

At those deep levels, corexit takes on very different properties, especially if highly laced with iron. The bacteria spread quickly and excrete a lot of methane, which at depth become methyl hydrates, and freeze to become a blanket of sorts.

There is a huge amount of oil down there, trapped beneath a blanket of corexit.

Nearly all new leases for the Gloria dome and Julia fields in the years since dwh, have been bottom feeders, and bottom based rigs, pumping UP to the surface to waiting refinery ships and straight tankers.

Right under our eyes.
