What does ANY of this have to do with stopping mass shootings?

And what is Washington state doing this, when the so called incidents happened in other states?

The more a lie is told, the more people start believing it's the truth. As much as it's said, it doesn't change the fact that it's a lie.

As if the sheriff will have nothing else better to do with his time than to visit people's houses once a year. Try doing that in the city, lmao. Will they please get real here? Seriously?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31271979

In King County and Pierce County, the deputy's often are in the cities. Seattle is in King Co. and Tacoma is in Pierce Co. Yes there is many rural areas and even mountains in both. But it's not rural like many of you think out in the Midwest or down south. In the Seattle/Tacoma/Everett area (I-5 corridor) there's about 3 million people in 3 Counties. So in theory a King Co. deputy can go from Suburbs of Seattle (pop.630,000) all the way to Mt. Rainer with a small town of like 100. Anyway, just saying.

One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners. Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?

Sure, and after they a few examples out of people standing up for their right, everyone will think twice about taking a stance. I think the whole Dorner thing was meant to scare cops into thinking twice about questioning their masters.

We don't live in the days of muskets and bayonets anymore, we're not evenly matched with our oppressors. Citizens can't fight drones, EMP, robots, gunships, hollowpoints, railguns, and lasers that can cut through 200 feet of steel in a second. [link to bg.battletech.com]

They need to hold a AR15 fan club meeting at every house they try to enter.

When they show up for the first appointment( I hope they don't show up unannounced) there needs to be about 200 guys inside "cleaning" their weapons.

Hell, even the idiot who wrote this bill says he does not agree with what's in it.

I spoke to two of the sponsors. One, Sen. Adam Kline, D-Seattle, a lawyer who typically is hyper-attuned to civil-liberties issues, said he did not know the bill authorized police searches because he had not read it closely before signing on.

“I made a mistake,” Kline said. “I frankly should have vetted this more closely.”

That lawmakers sponsor bills they haven’t read is common. Still, it’s disappointing on one of this political magnitude. Not counting a long table, it’s only an eight-page bill.

The prime sponsor, Sen. Ed Murray, D-Seattle, also condemned the search provision in his own bill, after I asked him about it. He said Palmer is right that it’s probably unconstitutional.

“I have to admit that shouldn’t be in there,” Murray said.

He said he came to realize that an assault-weapons ban has little chance of passing this year anyway. So he put in this bill more as “a general statement, as a guiding light of where we need to go.” Without sweating all the details.

Haha I wish these lines could be quoted over and over again... But they won't me in the MSM of course.

“I’m a liberal Democrat — I’ve voted for only one Republican in my life,” Palmer told me. “But now I understand why my right-wing opponents worry about having to fight a government takeover.”

This definitely comes out of Seattle. Eastern Washington is generally conservative, and feisty. They voted out Tom Foley when he was Speaker of the House.

The blue-collar union Dems I know all draw the line at guns, because to a man, they all hunt.

The Seattle leftists need to grow a pair and secede from Eastern Washington, if not the whole USA. Call it the People's Republic of Cascadia and have the border as the Pacific Crest.

If that ever happens, the most coveted job there would be Code Enforcer.

That is absolute BS, If he had been met with glowing positive remarks he would have dislocated his arm patting himself on the back. Those liars are in full retreat now ... blaming it all on an unnamed staff member.

As of just now, there are 871 comments on the article in the Seattle Times, never known to waste a microgram of ink on a conservative viewpoint, and though I did not read all 44 pages, I read several, and found only 1 comment in favor of the legislation.

What we need now is to take a page out of the unions' book, and import several thousand protesters to go take possession of the capitol for several days.

Problem is, law abiding citizens usually work...

Canuck gets it!

Actually, its a bunch of shit holes. Every major city over about 100,000 is nothing but a big slum and center of oppression. The biggest shithole (with the deepest hole and the biggest pile of shit) is Washington District of Criminals.

In the heartland, its great. There is freedom and the cities and government do not like it. We are, essentially, uncontrollable. Unlike the cities with their hives of unproductive, dependent, mindless sheople that don't own anything, don't do anything and vote however they are indoctrinated to vote (most often democrat, but there are some republican sheople as well). Controlled opposition helps hide the true agenda.

In the heartland, we're independent and mostly wise to the bullshit being pulled to rob us of our rights.

Law abiding citizens are easier to catch and easier to fleece because they have a little bit of money or at least a job to make payments on their fines meted out by the ptb. Less danger. Who would you roust first?

There's nothing extra in it for the state if they only go after the criminals.
