There are plenty of racist threads on here. This one is about deadbeat parents and their kids. So far it is pretty universal that feminism has caused the main rift, which is a political movement. Thats why you look stupid criticizing another for being correct. It is you who chose poor words to describe your position.

My dad walked out on me, mom, and brother when I was four. My brother was only 1 yo.

He did not pay one dime of child support and fled the state (back in the early 1970's) to hide and work for pay under the table jobs.

My mom hired a private investigator to track him down for child support because the court was sluggish to do anything back then. When she found him, he was furious. He threatened to come and shoot all of us if she continued to bother him for child support. Needless to say she left him alone.

My mother worked her entire life in a factory. She never took welfare, and paid for everything cash on the barrel. As a single mom I remember the stresses she faced taking care of everything. She was so thin from stress, and sometimes I heard her crying from my bedroom at night.

One day, when I was 19 yo, my dad contacted me out of the blue wanting to see me. I made the mistake of going to meet him. He didn't like me and told me not to contact him again and that meeting up was a mistake.

Three months ago my father died. I had to find out on the internet that my own father died. No one contacted us. In his obituary, my brother and I were not mentioned as his children. The description of his life in that obituary was the first time I got to know what my dad did for a living and what he enjoyed doing for hobbies throughout the years.

It hurt a lot. Still hurting. I had to say goodbye to a man I never knew, who did not want to be a father.

Whenever a man or woman talks about running off and leaving their children behind, I tell them what life is like without a dad in it. It has opened some eyes and made people think long and hard before leaving their flesh and blood behind.

It is cases like yours which grabbed the hearts and minds of so many which led to Roe v Wade passing.

The problem today is the pendulum has gone too far to the other side, and punishes deadbeats - which yours sure fit the description of - when the system grants 99.99% of the time to the mothers of today.

Earlier in this thread I suggested to the OP that instead of using FORCE to grant the woman power over the mans life, and vice versa (there are deadbeat moms too), to use the court to truly put the kids first - not this bullshit they say is in the kids best interests today.

So how can this be done? Change the laws to FORCE the parents into counseling ffor starters. If true abuse exists that is another story. Many women file false Domestic Injunctions with zero evidence/proof of anything just so they get 100% custody and support for free from the state.

The system is broken because the courts do not want to put thekids first and instead tell the mother 'here - you take them and we will support you and force the father to pay up regardless of ability to work, high unemployment etc.

While your story is common 40 years ago it is not today. My ex filed a DVI against a previously clean-record man, then called all my resume-listed employers with bleeding heart story over 18 months then filed for support. Since no previous employer would give a reference after that I am now not employable - period. With the economy in the toilet and no family to help I lost everything over an angry woman who I chose poorly. Sad the courts don't even listen to any words from a mans mouth.

So you see, your experience of pain has empowered the state to grant women specifically a double-standard. Not in written law, but in the courts. Judges do not even listen and if you do not have a lawyer you are screwed.

So yeah - the feminists need to back off and put the kids first rather than seek to both claim victim while purposely ending the fathers life. Talk about an ego problem!

The judges should ask the kids, whether or not the father hits them and under what circumstances.

If it is just Dad stuff, then the kid should be allowed to be with their Dad.
Women shouldnt be able to do anything about it.

So answer me this or pray-tel goddess: When a Injunction is used to handle the divorce despite no proof/evidence/prior events which justify it, and the father attempts to send the kids birthday presents and is told that is a violation of the injunction and if you do it again off to jail you go....

I am referring to the fathers who DELIBERATELY are not a part of the child's life. The ones who can't step up and be responsible to care for the life they helped bring in to this world. The ones who forget to call on the child's birthday. Or makes promises to visit the child, but some how finds something else a lot more important than visiting them. The losers who always have enough to buy smokes, drugs and booze, but can't help out and provide food, clothing for their own flesh and blood.

I have friends in the exact same situation as the one you have described and my heart goes out to them. It is wrong for a father to not be allowed to be a part of their child's life. I couldn't imagine the heartache of not being able to see my child.

Dads have a special place in kids hearts, as do mothers. Unfortunately, they are getting less love from him and they desire it more. You're the one that gives them rules and maes them take baths and goto sleep. They're kids, love doesn't mean too much at that point.
