I'm Jewish but I can't explain this bullshit. Judaism is a religion, as many here have stated. It's not a fucking race. To look at me and my family, you'd think we were just plain old white people--BECAUSE WE ARE.

When the Jews in my family say we're Jewish, we mean we worship the Lord of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and observe the mitzvah (eh--not always). My brother is an atheist and he would rather be called anything than a Jew.

I think the atheists from Jewish families just want to hold on to the cultural identity of the Jewish community where they live. They like the food, the Yiddish, the stand up comedy, etc.

For me and my family, this wouldn't be an issue because there is no Jewish community where we live. We moved here (WV) from New Orleans when I was very young. Here, I have to travel two counties just to find another Jewish family.
