A conspiracy theorist's wet dream No clue however the location is most curious for me. Good chance a girl (doggystyle... which I am sure is most popular than missionary and other romantic type positions) is staring at the picture while... Perhaps it is some kind of split personality... or maybe it is to represent control with a hand on the neck. A hand on a neck is a vulnerable place to be directed somewhere. You'd be helpless and obedient if being strangled. We must take note that the 3rd last picture in the set gives the perfect angle to see that the mirror is not ON the brick, but is actually put IN the brick. The bricks were built around the mirror, not the mirror being placed on the bricks. |

A conspiracy theorist's wet dream ********THIS IS THE NEW INFO ADDED TO THE FIRST PAGE******** The portrait on the wall is Jay Carmeaux. Carmeaux was a DKE (Delta Kappa Epsilon, THE Fraternity to be part of) at LSU. LSU's DKE chapter has a secret alumni association, known as The Friars. Their symbols include the skull and crossbones, like the ones seen in the room. DKE has a reputation for being a public "feeder" fraternity to other secret societies, most notably the Skull & Bones at Yale. The room number, "322", and the skull and crossbones insignia in the room are both used by the Skull & Bones as well. It wouldn't be suprising if one DKE alumni society used the same symbols as its more famous cousin. In fact, unconfirmed sources claim that The Friars are actually a chapter of the Skull & Bones. It is interesting to note the similarity between the name of the hotel - ZaZa - and LSU's DKE chapter: Zeta Zeta. Most likely a private room for Jay Carmeaux. More interesting than that (to me) is that he is likely an member of a confirmed secret society, which is either a branch of or related to the Skull & Bones at Yale. That explains the room number, the creepy decorations, the two-way mirror and false wall, everything. No other explanation so far makes more sense. "The Friars is an alumni association/secret society of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity at LSU. Deke is about as old money as you can get at LSU -- deep roots in New Orleans, and Huey P. Long financed the construction of their house for his son, Senator Long, who was a member at the time. Rumor has it that runnels run from the Deke house all across campus. ... Their symbol is a coffin with a skull & crossbones superimposed. It's actually painted on the side of the DKE house. Also, the Zeta Zeta chapter of DKE at LSU is supposedly the inspiration for Animal House (the partying, at least). Classic youtube video: [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] ETA 2: Coincidence that Zeta Zeta would have a private hotel room at a hotel in Houston called ZaZa? Probably not. Houston is chock full of LSU alums." Interesting Wikipedia page: [link to en.wikipedia.org] From the wiki: "Upon its founding its goal was to revive the Zeta Zeta chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon of Centenary College of Louisiana, formerly of Jackson, Louisiana. The chapter had closed its doors at the outbreak of the American Civil War, when all of its members enlisted." Houston is apparently full of LSU grads. These coincidences are way too big for just a "theme room". |

(We'll note again it's not mentioned on the Web site, which lists and describes the other "theme" rooms.) While it's a "compact" room, it has one of the hotel's largest balconies, which overlooks the pool area, she said. (The other side of the hotel features another compact theme room, called Ship's Cabin, which resembles a yacht and also overlooks the pool.) She says neither room is secret or kept from being rented. Coots also told us that, at one point, the company's president lived in the Hard Times room for two months, five days a week. A conspiracy theorist's wet dream Probably where the guy in the pic took women after the date-rape drugs kicked in. Quoting: thinkingoutsidetherhombus You said it, I didn't :p Two options of reality here: Quoting: The Sonic Dreamer 1. ZAZA planted the story themselves. I had never heard of ZAZA Hotel before, and would have never heard of it without this story. I am sure this story is going viral as we speak. This option seems most likely, because if there truly was a secret room, how would it have been rented out? By mistake? Not plausible. It would likely require a password to rent that room. Also consider: if you were using a secret room to film snuff films and/or have underage prostitutes, extreme bondage, etc.....would a hotel room with hundreds of potential witnesses be the best place to house the secret room? Which does however, lead one to consider the concept of 'hiding in plain sight' to blend in, appear innocuous, etc. 2. This room did somehow get rented by mistake (or someone broke in, or snuck in, and used the accidental booking as a coverstory.) The hotel staff is attempting to make cover for the room by throwing together a cover story. I checked the hotel's website, and indeed they do offer and advertise their themed rooms (called Concept Rooms on their site) but they curiously do NOT market this "Hard Times" room. Quite curious the skull images, and the room 322, which is absolutely linked to Yale University's Scull and Bones. The photo of the middle aged executive is bizarre beyond belief and does not square with the rest of the entire room's decor. The more I ponder this story, the deeper the rabbit hole appears. I am going to need more tools than just Occam's Razor to figure this one out.... I am just going to say right here that I appreciate you trying to explain a real reason for this room existing aside from something sinister but I think you are being a bit naïve. A themed "Hard-times"/"Jail Cell" room would not have the old president of Stanford Financial Group sitting there watching you. If the room was designed for a theme, the theme would go together and make sense. That picture destroys any chance of this being a "fun room". And about the comment that were are a lot of witnesses in a hotel... I don't know about you but when people are with a woman who is quite out of it, most people assume they had a night out on the town and now the person is bringing her back to the room. Now to sound like a creepy bastard, but these guys aren't going to be bringing some hysterically screaming girl back to their room through a hotel. She's going to go with the guy and... yeah. Lastly, about the room requiring a password and seeming to be bullshit as a "mistake". You forget that new employees come and go in EVERY industry and some times people are not so well trained. Mistakes happen. If someone was doing things this sinister behind closed doors, it is only Karma for his secret to eventually come to light. Such is life. I'd like to know what room is next door? There's a door near the foot of the bed. If that's not to the hallway then maybe there's an entrance to behind the bricks there? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11385540 This is what everyone is wondering. Why is the room 1/3 the size of a regular room, and how do you get to the other 2/3rds? Seeing things on trap doors, there could easily be a door in the wall we can't see. Those people who put those in houses for a living are VERY good at what they do because... what else is the point of a trap door? When you are that rich, the door is going to be hidden very very well, no matter the cost. oh, goody!! a new conspiracy!! Quoting: ladyannie2009 awesome post, OP! 5* plus bonus points for the cool-assed skull painting....I love it :skulls: Thanks :) I honestly don't even think I'd call this a conspiracy. The evidence speaks for itself. 322, CONCRETE FLOOR (I think it is safe to assume that carpet is harder to clean DNA out of), two-way mirror (presumably), skulls, unusually small size room and bathroom, Jay Comeaux hanging on the wall. Maybe the mirror is a trap door, you can see there is a hole behind the mirror if you look at the edges. |

A conspiracy theorist's wet dream The story: Quoting: SpinningHangers "stay here frequently when on business. Hotel was booked solid and my colleague managed to score a room unplanned. We all had normal ZaZa style rooms (swanky) and he ended up in this goth dungeon closet. Seriously- the room had a chain holding the bed to wall, pictures of skulls and a creepy, incongruous portrait of an old man. Room was about 1/3 the normal size with the furniture blocking part of the TV, bed and window. We asked about it at the front desk and the clerk looked it up and said " that room isn't supposed to be rented.' and immediately moved him." Thankfully for you and I, his friend took pictures before talking to the front desk. See them at the link that follows: [link to imgur.com] Note that the room is 1/3 the usual size of ZaZa Hotel rooms, quite possibly a two-way mirror, and has a concrete floor (easier to clean...). The bathroom is also smaller than most ZaZa rooms as well as they do not have brick walls like this. The mirror also looks deeply set into the wall which could support the theory of it being a two-way mirror. The picture of the man on the wall is believed to be Jay Comeaux formerly of the Stanford Financial Group in Houston. [link to www.bauer.uh.edu] He is a LSU grad. The Friars are a secret society at LSU. The skull and crossbones is a symbol of their order. Also, it should be noted that "322" isn't just relevant to Skull and Bones, but to a whole slew of collegiate secret societies. He worked out of Houston, so it's very likely that that is, or was his room. He was also apparently involved in some sort of $7 billion Ponzi securities fraud: [link to www.businessweek.com] Stanford Financial has hosted several events there. There is a connection between the company and the hotel which gives good reason that Jay Comeaux is the one in the picture. Enjoy. That room kicks ass! Nothin' wrong with it. Pussies. ^^^this^^^ |

Alright everyone, I am so tired from this thread last night and being up for work. Can't do this again tonight. Have a good night and I'll continue this talk here tomorrow. Night |

A conspiracy theorist's wet dream Two options of reality here: Quoting: The Sonic Dreamer 1. Definitely Option #1 If you search around the web, you find another story of a writer who had this room, and was moved. She took a picture of the room as well. I also found a few comments on the "news" site, Houston News or whatever, by people who have rented out the room. The room is definitely real, but nonetheless I doubt it is anything bad. It is the jailhouse themed room. As for the guys picture on the wall, perhaps he rents it out indefinitely, which is why the room isnt supposed to be rented to anyone else? The guy definitely has money. He wouldnt bet he first to have a hotel room to himself, indefinitely, lol. |
