Anonymous Coward User ID: 26795689 United States 02/19/2013 06:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hmmmm, I'm just tethering to my android for a link right now I suppose I could get dressed and drive to an access point but I'm sooo lazy. I'll get it done but probably not tonight. Well definitely update the thread when you get a chance and we'll have a look at what you're seeing. There's been a good amount of reports about unexplained flashes of light that light up an entire sky and are not experienced in conjunction with precipitation or with normal thunder. Some of the flashes have been reported in conjunction with those loud booms that have been shaking/vibrating homes in various parts of the country. |
sssss User ID: 34740604 Australia 02/19/2013 06:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have been seeing these the past year or so quite regularly. Kind of looks like a camera flash on a larger scale. Happens no matter what the weathers like. Completely unrelated to lightning in my opinion. THE CHANGE IS COMING! Anonymous Coward User ID: 34744723 Australia 02/19/2013 06:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I set up a motion activated IR camera last night using Ispy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24793065 Hoping to record some meteors. So far Ive only got 2 and they are really weak. The weird thing is that even though there has been heavy cloud cover I keep recording these very brief flashes in the sky. Just single point of light only visible in one frame. Just a flash, they obviously penatrate cloud cover whatever it is. Anyone got any ideas? It's not lightning it is only ever a couple pixles lit up. once in a while there is a second pulse a second or so later, usually dimmer. They don't seam to follow any pattern of time or location. Nor do they coincide with iridium flares. I saw a flash tonight, was sitting outside and one of those moving lights in the sky (lots here) flashed at me. I waved back. |

anonymous Michigan User ID: 34805216 United States 02/20/2013 02:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | about 1 am EST I saw bright green flash in the sky too. bright enough to make me think there was some kind of weird electrical explosion or something to the east. only lasted a couple seconds, but as bright as lightning (although it wasn't that) and it was really green. Weird. |
RUNE User ID: 34913910 United Kingdom 02/21/2013 08:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was out walking with my son on the 19th and happened to notice a white pulse from very high up, it baffled me to what i could have been. I stood there for 5 minutes then i noticed another across from it on the same level. It seemed to pulse in rhythm with the first one yet not so bright and not always visible. They didn't move for at least 15 minutes. My son needed my attention but i managed to film the flashes on my phone. The quality isn't great but it confirms what i said about the pulsing brilliant white light. It was midlands UK facing NW ish. The moon was to my right. The time was between 3pm- 3:20pm GMT. Definitely not satellites/planes/balloons. I'm scratching my head over it. Your post was the closest thing i could find that was similar to what i seen. |
