I usually have to cringe and keep myself from being nasty when I come on here and people are dishing out BS about nutrition citing their mom was a dietitian 60 years ago and the like, but this is a good, level article. Kudos to you Mr. Weird. "A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right." ~Thomas Paine |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34746765 Very informative, well cited too. There are billions of dollars being spent on crappy foods that are not healthy for us and not spent on foods that will keep us healthy. The cholesterol myth is a prime example of this. Studies even show that the lower you drive the cholesterol in blood, the higher is the mortality rate. Mainstream media make billions of dollars running ads from the food companies and they won't report the truth. This article does. |

I think the reason there are so many unhealthy guidelines is because tptb want most of us dead. They try to do this from every angle possible, like now blanketing the planet with massive amounts of radiofrequency radiation (RF), which the World Health Organization was finally forced to admit can "possibly" cause cancer. Bastard covered bastards with bastard filling. They will get their reward. On a lighter note (no pun intended): I have found a great way to lose weight. The reason it works, I believe, is that it mimics the eating habits of animals in the wild, as they go for periods of time without eating. It's referred to as "alternate day fasting," although you don't really fast, just restrict calories every other day (that's how I do it, others have different configurations). BUT...because you know you can eat anything you want the next day, psychologically you can deal with it. I've lost 12 pounds, and I continue to lose steadily every week, pretty much. One thing that might not appeal to people is that the loss is pretty slow. But, from what I understand, that's the better way to lose anyway. Here's a link, if anyone's interested. Oh, I forgot, this diet, according to clinical research, also significantly lengthens life, seriously reduces inflammation (which is at the root of many disease processes), and has been known to help people get rid of asthma. So there's that! This guy's one drawback is that he still has a few old-fashioned ideas, like margarine is better than butter, and diet products are good for "Down Days" (the day you reduce calories). So ignore that, and try to eat as naturally as you can (look back at the article OP has so helpfully provided!). I also have one "Junk Food Day" a week, so I don't get too tempted the other days. I'm giving the link that will allow you to find out what the best plan for you is. You just put in your vital statistics. This plan has been out for a while, and is also called "Eat Stop Eat," intermittant fasting, and some other things. Bottom line: Lots of people are having lots of success with it! Dont use vegetable oils. well how the hell am i supposed to cook then. Dont eat wheat. Well how the hell am i supposed to make a sandwitch then. Dont have a high carb diet. Well how the hell am i going to afford to eat meat all the time then! Also a lot of it makes no sense to me. I am not fat, my diet never makes me fat, and i dont watch what i eat. I eat eggs, butter, beacon, cheese, and whatever is going. I eat pasta a lot and that is high carb. Im thin, always have been and my weight never changes, im 31 yrs old. So i guess i'll carry on. I dont eat supermarket shit like ready meals. i just eat real food like, meat, eggs, butter, cheese, bread(carboard shit but what alternative is there to bread), bananas, tomatos and other stuff that goes into pasta. I dont eat sugar i use honey instead. I also dont bother putting any spread on my sandwiches like margarine or butter, never have done ever, im too lazy. Bottom line is im thin and healthy. I put it down to body type, and that everybody type can adapt to different diets based upon gentic ancestory and geographic location. |

Eskimos have adapted big time to their diets of raw fish, extreme cold, and darkness for half the year. fundamental processes of the body have changed in them, such as their blood not rushing away from extremties like hands and feet, during the cold. This is a major change, and they adapted in just a few generations maybe even less. |

If you can find it, eat rye bread, not wheat. Read the bread labels. To get protein, you don't have to eat meat all the time. Google "Protein foods" for substitutes, and eat meat a couple or three times a week. Sounds like you are eating really well, though. I have a rule which is "Buy foods that look like they did when they were alive." |

John Kimble User ID: 1516308 Netherlands 02/19/2013 11:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | yeah the 6 meals a day myth is such bs. If you actually have very strong discipline you might pull it off but for most of us its a recipe for disaster. The more times you eat the more you start craving. Your body gets used to being full throughout the day and will re-adjust itself so now you have 6 times you eat during the day and you will probably eat slightly more each time. Intermitting fasting is what I believe. Like the article says we are build to fast from time to time. Reducing the window of time in which you eat has so many more benifits. You don't need to eat small unsatisfying meals and you don't hae to follow some retarded diet, you just eat what you want to eat only instead of spreading it out over the entire day you confine it to a window of 4-6 hours in the day. The awesome thing about it is that you don't have a calori shortage like most stupid diets have and because you train your body to feel hungry it will adjust to it and because of that you will feel less hungry on average. After I ate my main meal at 7:30 I don't have anymore cravings for food, unless I smoke some pot but that is a different story. I know so many people who eat whenever they feel the slightest hint of hunger and they can't go 2 hours without eating something. They all think it won't matter now they are 24 but they forget about the fact that you will not have a awesome metabolism for the rest of your life. I might be unfortunate now that I don't have the metabolism I had when I was 16 but I know the steps I take now will be such an advantage in 10 years. My best advice is start drinking water. Water water water, there is nothing better. It is the best for hydration, it has no calories, it is practically free and it is fucking healthy. I drink about half a litre to a litre of water a day and that is all I need to stay hydrated. When you only drink soda or juices like most of my fellow humans do you need to drink more, you take in insane amounts of sugar, you are not properly hydrated and it just costs ridiculous amounts of money in the long term compared to something we all can get out of multiple places in our house. Water is our natural energy drink. If you don't believe me go workout like you normally would and then one time drink 1.5-2 litres of water 1 hour before you go workout, it is insane how much difference it makes. And to all you bitches who say water tastes like shit stop being a fucking toddler and a sugar junky. Last Edited by John Kimble on 02/19/2013 11:20 AM I'm da party poopa |

If you quit carbs you wont feel hungry or countless other things you feel now everyday and think its normal. The cravings for a sandwich will go away so the question how to make a sandwich wont even be there. Without wheat and carbs your brain will function a 100% better on ketones. More energy, awareness, focus, productiveness, all these things automatically happen to you when in Ketosis. They leave the moment any carbs enter your body. Here's my thread on quitting carbs and all forms of sugar. There's some great info in that thread. [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] |
