Big rumors that the UK will be downgraded tonight

One week later and of course nothing happened.

When there are talks about "rumors" it always seems to take place in the head of that person.

Here in Holland we do have a name for these kind of people : schizophrenic

umm, assume you were taking some of those famous dutch mushrooms and missed the fact that this did in fact happen

agree, though since QE (which is what caused this downgrade since repayment isn't an issue) is something that started under labour this is really an issue encompassing the entire political sphere because none of them have the balls to stand up and tell the country how it really is

I have no clue about the current Icelandic downgrade, probably B or C something. Makes NO difference.

Welcome UK to the downgrade although the UK should seriously consider anti terrorist legislation against the rating agencies. Remember the anti terrorist legislation against Iceland when our economy collapsed. The sort of thing the UK does to its friends.

i find it odd indeed that we get downgraded right when our debt/economy is seeming to be heading for an upturn lol

No Upturn.

There is the public figure and the true figures for unemployment in the UK. The government does not like publishing the true figure. I suspect other countries around the world are not much different from being very specific with the truth.

True figure is much higher as many of those on benefits are simply not classed as being unemployed. i.e. Not taking Jobseekers Allowance.

These rating agencies are staffed mostly with brits.
Brits downgrading Britain sounds like high treason to me.
Henry the VIII would have dealt with them accordingly. Allah snackbar style.
