Yes, we all learned about this when we were young. You have a valid point. However, Earth is not a glass of water. A lot of that melting water is being evaporated into the atmoshphere causing a more storms and severe weather. Also.. the water that is melting is mostley freshwater from what I've read, which can change the salinity of the ocean's, whichh can change pretty much everything.
