The newest TDRS (11) K was in position in 2/10/2013 form the 1/30/2013 launch, everything was looking good on 2.15 and they were starting their three months of tests. This newest one is the first of three to be launched by 2015 & it did require a flight software upgrade to the ISS, looks like that upgrade did not go as planned, once it crashed to the backup they stopped talking.

Now that communication is up, the question is how is the TDRS (11) k, she is capable of transmitting more than 5 times the info then the TDRS they are planning on retiring over the next 2 years.

On side note...

Talked to my mother earlier, she said around 11:30am EST today, their Clocks, which update on some proprietary up link from a Sat. connection, decided to reset to 12:00AM Jan1, ya know, like a power loss/off of a clock, for 10minutes. Then, they flashed again and were back on. This is at a major hospital, and I am sure they have some of the best technology available, even the clocks were dependent on the sat link. Just thought I'd throw that out there. This was all clocks in said hospital, not just the one either, as she said all were talking about it all day, first time that has happened...ever...at that place.

So uhm, it just came back, Chris Hadfield reported that 7 minutes ago.

92minutes approx. for one complete orbit of Earth.
