Yes there was porn in the woods but it was always in bad condition and old, with pages loose, yuck. Much better results could be had with raiding newsagent dumpsters. Simple to do, just go into the newsagent every day (kids have a lot of time) and take a look at the porn section to see if anything changed. If there are new mags there, run around to the back and jump in the bin to grab the old ones which typically only had the front cover torn off but were otherwise perfect.

heh. my brother tells me this story about how when he was in jr. high his friend said to him one day "Hey! Lets go look for porn magazines in the gutter!" My brother said, uh, ok. They did, and lo and behold! they found one!! My brother says he searched gutters for years after that looking for porn mags. It is only now that he realizes his friend planted the magazine there.

This is so true to what it was like where I grew up in the north woods of Wisconsin. I once had a cousin who would visit from Seattle, and once when he visited when we were around the age of 6 we found some penthouse mags down by the creek in a park across from my grandparents home. Years and years later, say when we were around 15 he came back to the same park and asked... is this the dirty magazine river? I had forgotten of course because it was a pretty common thing where i grew up. I always assumed that Seattle was porn deprived because he remembered it for so long. Thanks OP! This was long before the perverts were so brazen, and it is not as if we were approached by any or played with our selves in the woods for them to watch. I think at the time the real dirty mags became available and older kids stashed them much as they now delete cookies and internet histories. Just a different and more pure time.

not everyone found porn in the woods. growing up in the 80's I never saw any and I spent a lot of time in the woods smoking weed. maybe I was too stoned to notice the porn.

I remember when I was in Jr high, I was walking home from school with my buddy, and he say's, "Hey, let's look in sewers for dirty magazines" The first sewer we looked in, Bam! Found one. I spent the next week looking in every sewer I saw for dirty magazine. Not till years later did I realize that my buddy had planted the thing in that first sewer, probably stole it from his older brother and he needed an accomplice to not feel so guilty about it.

I know what youre saying. All over the place. When I was 13 I worked for a familys freind redoing houses. I was the runner boy. He bought this one house that had piles of magazines in it. I saved a couple but through the years theyve disappeared. Im sure some of them would be collectibles now...they were old!

More recently. I was in the outskirts of Denver doing my favorite hobby (rock collecting). Down arround parker theirs a ton of petrified wood. I went down there for like 3 days in a row, just walking this dirt road and looking in the washes.

I came to this little side road (like a 2 track) and along side it was a pile of video tapes magazines and a pud pump (I dont know what theyre called but theyre supposed to make the little ones bigger).

I stole them from a neighbor in an apartment house but took them to the woods to check them out.
Then I stashed them for later
