Calculating the Position and Orientation of the Moon Part 2: Astrometric Validation
Previously I introduced this spreadsheet for calculating the position and orientation of the moon based on tables published 22 years ago ("Lunar tables and programs from 4000 B.C. to A.D. 8000" by Michelle Chapront-Touzé and Jean Chapront):

I've now updated the spreadsheet to include precession to J2000.0 coordinates, which is the standard most programs and telescopes use. I've also verified the spreadsheet's calculations against fresh astrometric data. The result? The moon is still right where it should be.

Version 2 of the spreadsheet with precession to J2000.0 included:

Re: Calculating the Position and Orientation of the Moon Part 2: Astrometric Validation
The moon has a path that is visible from the surface of Earth.

No telling how far out it is, nor how large it is.

The problem is, the scale of what I find on the surface doesn't MATCH the distances and dimensions that are given.

But the path, as seen from the surface is a stable constant, so stable in fact, that it can be imitated, matched or overwritten.

What is unfortunate is that Deceit rules Science.

Why? So scientists can renew their grants, which are dominated by political correctness in this NOT-SEE Fascist system.

Like I said to you before, go to a ham radio club that does eme bouncing. You can see for yourself how far away the moon is. I have.

its the facts people... that is why the ancient computer that was found that has been recreated absolutely accurately could predict our eclipses now over 3000 years ago..
this was always a silly argument... yes the moon looks funny and different at times...
The hard facts say its exactly where it should be...
barking up the wrong tree doomers and zetatards...
so much amazing stuff going on up there.... why stick on something so feeble and utterly wrong.

Yes; the moon's coordinates as calculated by the tables are dependent on a wide variety of factors including the heliocentric mean longitudes of the planets, including earth, and is heavily dependent on the secular (non-periodic) part of the difference between the mean longitude of the moon and the mean longitude of the sun relative to the center of the earth.

Make a thread helping us find Near Earth Objects.

twelve sizable meteorite touch downs in 5 days... Large enough to cause shock waves of destruction.(I am avoiding the natural accumulation of meteorites in a Earth year because the normality of size of these in the past five days is not normal.

How have you not done a thread yet???
