Anonymous Coward User ID: 35144135 Portugal 02/25/2013 04:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Rome, Italy — We're live from the Casa dell'Architettura in Rome, where the center-left Partito Democratico is hosting its election day activities. Over 7 hours after the polls have closed, things have turned to chaos. Markets around the world are plunging, as we have seen a split vote. The markets were hoping for the liberal leader Pier Luigi Bersani to win easily, allowing him to form a coalition government with technocrat leader Mario Monti. This would ahve paved the way for unpopular austerity and reforms, that the rest of Europe has been very happy to see. But the voters had a different idea tonight. As Emmanueal Letta -- the second in command of the left party -- just explained, the voters have entered a "rebellion" and the country appears to be ungovernable. The Senate is too divided for any party to claim a victory, and in fact Berlusconi, who was thought to be in second place, appears to have won the majority of seats in the Senate. All this news has caused markets to quake. US stocks tanked. Fear has surged. The Euro has fallen. Gold spiked. And the Japanese yen had a gigantic day. What happens next is very unclear now. Some are wondering outright whether Italy will simply ned to have another election. Meanwhile there is a huge throng of reporters now at Bersani HQ. Here's a quick look. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 31834029 France 02/25/2013 04:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Italy has lots of debts, thats true, but it is mostly held by italiens. Italy has had a surplus the last years, meaning a functioning economy. Italy can handle its debts. They proved it the last 20 years. What happens today is, that countries are attacked by the "markets", but their ultimate aim is the EURO. At the same time, in countries like France or Germany, money is invested and safe, due to the QEn+1 liquidity bubble. France is far worse off than Italy. All that, makes only sense, if you accept one fact: We are being played by international investors, aka wall street and the city. We are the ball, that is being played in a big international financial ball game. |

And ze Germans would love to go back to their beloved Deutsch Mark. Quoting: An Ordinary Greek 35126030 im not saying having a leftist government is a bad thing. im saying germany is in a scary situation. if we'd return to nationaly currencies we'd loose our exports. if we stay within the eurozone we will have to find a solution for all the other memberstates before they shipwreck and trigger a chain reaction. i anyway wonder why germany is beeing held so strong during the economic crisis. its almost like someone fears to see germany go into recession. looking into history it's understandable. could it be that if we were to suffer we'd go to war again? i'd have to leave this country if so..... scary shit.... ...especially if the EU construct has any miscalculation we jaust dont see yet..... Its starting to look in my eyes ur elites are being fooled by illuminati: they promised them a german command in eu, but that is revolving quickly in a resentment against the germans by all other drained nations If only ur elites did infact managed differently the greek doom since day one...we could not have seen this mess but its all managed, no pun intended And ze Germans would love to go back to their beloved Deutsch Mark. The basic solution to all this misery is to create a european nation state. The basic problem is that France would not give up her souvereign rights as a state (budget, law, and so on). The other basic problem is that Germany won't accept eurobonds to not to pay the debts of other states. Checkmate. Exit. Im sure thats what EU founding fathers (De Gasperi, Adenauer, Monnet, Spaak) had in mind... Political Union BEFORE monetary one We have all been fooled by banksters-Illuminati for example...britain... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35080848 even if their rating drops the eu central bank could give em money for no interest rate saving em from the sharks on the international market. sadly britain is still not a member of the euro zone. we need a eu nation to protect ourselfes....that has to be understood. Thats true, in our times of currency wars and international debt crisis, if one country would stand alone, it probably would be worse. No problem, will be soon at war against east (Russia-China) ... Quoting: An Ordinary Greek 35126030 Yes, but the current economic situation in Germany with the so-called Hartz IV "labor reform" (aka labor slavery) will ultimately lead to protectionism and return to an "economic miracle", otherwise several million Germans will revolt. The Euro, although stable, is not suitable for every country. True, we would need two euros, managed by the ECB, one south euro and one north euro. Then the south euro would devalue, and a certain level of inflation would melt away the debt. At the same time we would need more integration, along a time frame lets say, one generation. Then we could perhaps marry south euro with north euro. The other possibility is a break up. There is no middle way. Meddling through will bring more problems than benefit and one time maybe not only germans are going to get out the gun .... . germany posesses more gold than the combined restof the eu. there is a reason why state owned gold is also called "WARCHEST". there also is a reason why germany brings this gold home..... they know what is to come. I cant believe that's what ur elites are sayin to ur people...Its a total bullshit And btw u wont see any gold in return, only few bullions, its all been sold by fed...as ours [link to en.wikipedia.org] what do you think? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35080848 will grillo catch even more seats if reelection takes place? Thats for sure, lookin at main parties reactions |
