I was intrigued by the other thread, downloaded the original pic and did some little analyze in the supposed "spine bones" spotted by Curiosity.

It's clearly a fossilized structure with obvious symmetrical features that resemble spinal bones and we can even see holes that certainly fit other parts and a VERY clear "U" articulation structure.

That piece looks like an articulation of some mechanic component like a robotic arm for instance, not an actual animal joint.

That could be an ancient robot or machinery that mimics animal movements. That articulation IMO is artificial.
