i have done, it is very difficult to secure enough work to make ends meet. it's all about the money. i want to be free of money, build my own log cabin and fish for and grow my own food.

Newsflash for you... you ARE beneath them. By empirical evidence you are not as skilled, driven, determined, or capable as they are.

See, this is where I have a MAJOR problem with simpleton scumbags like you.

You believe that people who cannot handle stress, people who are disabled, people with lower levels of natural talent, should all remain in hopeless poverty their whole lives.

You believe that only the "strong" should thrive and live in prosperity. What about people who have been poisoned, people with health conditions, people born with low IQ's, etc...? What about people born with conditions that don't ALLOW them to "kick ass"?

I'd trust (and be able to love) them, FAR easier than the arrogant, pompous, and tyrannical "lords" that you embrace.

But that's why you'll probably never start a business.

Yes, most Americans who work are skilled. It must be an extraordinary talent and take a ton of skill to operate a fucking copy machine and shuffle some papers. Half those fuckers working for the government or office jobs probably can't even use a hammer.

My husband is a plant supervisor, and believe this or not, he says they cannot find enough people to work.

They do have to pass a test...written and drug, but the pay is good.

I understand the part about not wanting to be a slave...maybe society is evolving out of the slave mentality.

But I believe there are good jobs, but u have to be qualified and prepared if you want one...not easy.

it takes time to get to the point that you can start a business. it only means the business owner started before he did.

it doesn't mean he is less skilled, driven or determined than his boss. how many bosses have you had that were stupid, incompetent, lazy, and got where they were by kissing ass? how many jobs have you interviewed for where you didn't get hired because you would make the boss or the other workers look bad because you were too good of a worker? or too smart?

how many business owners got where they were by cheating and lying, but that makes the OP inferior because he is "less capable"? you should ask yourself "less capable" of what, and ask yourself if "success" is actually a measure of hard work and integrity or if it means a successful robbery, and just how much greed and cruelty that would entail.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34916768

I agree. People often forget who REALLY runs this fallen planet. One who rewards evil, and corruption. People who are willing to participate in evil, are usually the ones who always attain the most "success".

I used to think this way when I was younger. Then, life happened.

This is a huge problem with our generation. I don't blame the guy for feeling that way, because a lot of that is dead-on. But at some point, you either do something, or join the masses and make your living and buy your car and mediocre house and have an average wife and 2 average kids - and learn to enjoy life for what it is.

I'm about to get a shitty job as a night stocker.. No more dreams. No more ambitions.. and much of that due to the things you mentioned on your list.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 875759

Dreams and ambitions are a good start. But, having those things, you still need a plan and the intention to make it real. Or, you can go drink beer or anesthetize yourself for the rest of your life.

My suggestion is that you make it a personal goal to learn Spanish very well. It will have a lot of good side effects; your job potential will increase; you will meet new people. It is compatible with whatever job you have; it can be done after hours. Expect to spend 20 years at it.

I do not think life was supposed to be this way.

You need to work for yourself then everyone has to work if you lived in the middle of the bush off the grid you still have to work to exist.
What you people are is a product of the easy life modern living has given us.
Yet most people do at least some work for this modern living curse, however some think its just free and they don't have to do anything.
But they don't understand how selfish this is because you are just leeching off the rest of our work.

I agree OP. Both my husband and I work full-time to take care of one child and still live paycheck to paycheck. We are college educated and make above minimum wage. The weekend is used for doing chores and running the errands that we could not during the work week only to start the work week all over again. Everyday I want to scream and cry as I am on my way to a desk that I will sit at all day. I know it could be worse so I am still thankful. It's hard to see how much is deducted from my check every pay period as the government is robbing me blind. Deep down, I know this is not the way we were meant to live. I don't mind working hard, in fact I do not believe in any other way but most of the time I want to get away from society and live off the land. You're definitely not alone in how you feel. God bless you.

I do agree with you somewhat OP. My life is stressful enough right now and I don't even work atm.

I wanna say something positive in working hard everyday though. Not bragging just saying. But my Dad grew up in these slum projects in East Boston back in the 60s, then his parents finally had enough to buy a house in a different city but they were still really poor. I'm not sure of my dad's whole life. But his parents died when he was fairly young. I'm not sure what he did in the meantime. But eventually he got a really good job. And bought a nice house of his own with my Mom. She worked 2 jobs to help pay also. We sold that house and now we have a even bigger house in a great neighborhood. And they deserve it.

And my mom had the same life growing up in a poor family. I'm sure lots of people grew up poor and worked hard to get where they are right now in this country/world.

My parents have told me tons of stories about the assholes at work. But they just dealt with it. My mom was a waitress for a long time but she put up with everyone. Most people have no choice but to work somewhere they don't want to.

In fact my whole neighborhood is full of hard working people who do work 8+ hours a day. And probably are stressed a lot. And deal with jerkoffs. But they still do it. Most of them all leave at 5am. I'm always usually awake and see them leave.

I know you probably don't really care. But just thought I would post that to support the people who get up and work everyday. Anyways its been at least 5 years since I worked for people. And I love it. There are so many things you can do to make money on your own. You gotta think hard but its worth it.
