yep that about sums it up I have given up on the system this stupid wasteful economy that is not even remotely economical I have not worked since 2007 partly because I was convinced 2012 was the end and their was no point in trying anymore and second I came to the realization that my employer dose not give a dam about my well being rather only cares that I dont cost him money with a lawsuit or wcb claim.

I am 31 live in my moms basement don't collect welfare or EI just leach of my mom for food and shelter I suppose. NO I cant do this forever I know this but the system we have in place is so backwards towards what it should be I cant grasp why any of us support it we dont want to we must because we truly are slaves to the system.

Agreed! Im still chuckling about the change your perspective post, ever heard of opposites attract? Have you ever noticed that when someone is mad or angry, people want to try and help? Ever notice when someone is all whistling and happy people are like what a dick.strange but true. I agree completely with your post. Needing money is just wrong! We should be free to share everything politely. But we have passed that point and now thanks to the stupid suckers, everything is totally toxic. But at least it's coming to an end cuz we can't live on cancer food, cancer pills, cancer water, cancer air, cancer coffee,ect....cheer

Here's why I feel so deeply resentful towards the system, that I am as deeply reluctant to serve it:

First off, it is so stressful and monotonous competing with hundreds / thousands of other wannabe slaves, that you are forced to constantly upgrade skills and sell yourself more (beg harder). It is degrading to beg to be someone else' slave.

Second, if you manage to get an interview, you are heavily interrogated.

Third, if you make it through the interrogation procedure they now own you and they can talk to you like shit and force you to slave away as hard as they like. Not so? Disobey your boss or argue back, you will find yourself penniless and homeless in no time.

Fourth, you are forced to work with people who may be absolute assholes and there's no escape.

Fifth, you take the stress of a job home with you and your mind is swamped with work schedules. so you cannot truly relax - ever.

Sixth, all of your freedoms are removed from the moment you leave school to the moment you retire. You are forced to work 8 hours per day - Monday to Friday - until your youth has gone forever. In fact, your freedoms are removed as soon as you start school.

Seventh, you are deceived into thinking that you are entitled to two days of freedom, but you are so stressed from the previous 5 days of slavery you just want to sleep in on Saturday. Then you spend Saturday night getting drunk to blot out your miserable existence. Sunday is spent sleeping in and feeling like shit from a hangover.

Eighth, constant toiling away and being handed heavy schedules age you prematurely, not to mention stressing the immune system.

Ninth, you cannot live a self sufficient lifestyle legally independent of the system because if you build a log cabin anywhere, so you can fish / hunt or grow crops for food, the system's henchmen will destroy your home and imprison you.

Tenth, you are a tax generating automaton who exists to swell the moneyboxes of the elite.

There you have it -- the big pink elephant is not staring you in the face from the far corner of the room, it is sitting on you and crushing you with it's enormous weight, yet the world is in collective denial over this very obvious fact. Why? Because slavery is all they understand.

That's why I hate the system and refuse to serve it.

True, it's a slave system no doubt. With the biggest b*tches being able to PARTIALLY skip over some of the negative effects of said system. In return for contributing to the suppression of those at the bottom of the pile. Simple.

I totally agree, but I have to point out that it was broken to mass amounts of people in the movie Matrix in 1999. :)

im worried i'll starve now because the economy's going to hell.. so im making changes here now

but before, it was just about mindless consumerism.. not even of goods i cared to have to impress people i didnt care about knowing

i want freedom, like to travel and see things, and safety in my life. I wished people werent as shallow and consumerist oriented as they are today.. its all about taking up debt to get the latest fanciest apartments or gadgets to impress eachother, if you dont have the latest and greatest junk, your looked down upon

up here its cold so i need a house, but if i lived a more warm place i think i would be more happy if we lived like native americans, as long as i didnt have to worry about starving to death

Dude i know exactly what you mean but it is not that easy. We all are struggling my dear friend and even though the system is fucked up it has helped many come out of basically having nothing. But i do agree...the system of today has to be reevaluated by many...not just for oppurtunities but for the growth of tomorrow. I seriously doubt that many care because they have succumed and accepted life for what it is...but now we have to change it for what we want it to be. I sit here in my college library typing to you and 5 minutes ago i was asking myself what is stopping me. I really dislike the system and i think im ready to start doing the things that i have always dreamed of. Im 21 and you have many years on me but i believe it is up to my generation to question and to help the rest of us find a better way to do this. We are not slaves...we are human beings that should be very concerned on how we treat each other, see each other, love each other, and help each other prosper. Through it all we need real change. REAL CHANGE. Of many things.

OP

I understand how you feel. There are things you can do to protect yourself from the vice of the system. The system is designed to distract you from the main focus of life - finding happiness.

I made a thread on how to protect yourself from the impending economic collapse but it was greatly ignored. If people truly cared I don't think it would've went down into the backpages of this forum. Listen, begin a home-based business. Get involved with something that will produce RESIDUAL INCOME for you & your family. It is a sure-fire way to protect yourself from economic hardship. Plus you won't have to work for anyone ever again once you incur a larger residual profit.

Begin today, OP.

It's called the Protestant work ethic- the religion of hard labour as a route to salvation. Then again, 'before enlightenment, fetching wood and carrying water; after enlightenment, fetching wood and carrying water'. No avoiding the work. Perhaps, when it comes, work 6 months at any crap and save like mad; then go travel the east or somewhere for a few months, it's interesting and cheap if you do as the locals do. Serendipity may be your friend, and you may find a chord somewhere to chime with..;)

2nd…. Manage to get an interview? Why not become a needed skill set …. You might have an advantage then

3rd…. slave away? Ok Mr the glass is half full…. Pick a carrier that YOU LIKE!

4TH… Maybe you are the asshole at work?

5th…if you can’t handle stress be a garbage collector …not much stress

Hey who doesn't hate the system, get used to it buddy.

My advice, try finding a job you actually enjoy, it makes things a whole lot easier.

I took 8 month holiday last year because I could and just relaxed, quite honestly it gets boring and anti-social pretty quickly, there are REASONS the system has been designed. One of them is to handle our human psyche, since very few of us can cope without a routine.

Give the general populous a tonne of money and no need to work, I bet you they end up drinking themselves stupid or taking on some other kind of bad habit. The system to an extent isnt all bad, just a lot of it is.

Maybe if you used friday and saturday night NOT getting drunk, and instead got high off raw cannabis or vaporize it (not smoke, to get the best of it) and grew your brain back to normal, you could think your way out of this, and find a job on the weekend.

Well now you have all the free time you need to find THE best job for you.

Think of it as a good thing, I have.

Nobody is forcing you man.

If you hate the job market, start a business.

Invest $ and live on dividends.

There are other ways to live beside depending upon a job.

Internet is filled with $ making opportunities.

It's to overwork/occupy you and drain all your physical and emotional energy so that you don't have time to question the way the system is operating nor figure out ways to change & revamp it.

Welcome to a novel concept...... it's called life.

I understand your complaint, but it's really about finding a way to like what you do. Fortunately your are not dictated to what you must do for a living.

If you love what you do it's NOT work.
