Re: I'm 34 and jobless. I am deeply resentful towards the so called 'work ethic'. Here's why...
Here's why I feel so deeply resentful towards the system, that I am as deeply reluctant to serve it:

First off, it is so stressful and monotonous competing with hundreds / thousands of other wannabe slaves, that you are forced to constantly upgrade skills and sell yourself more (beg harder). It is degrading to beg to be someone else' slave.

Second, if you manage to get an interview, you are heavily interrogated.

Third, if you make it through the interrogation procedure they now own you and they can talk to you like shit and force you to slave away as hard as they like. Not so? Disobey your boss or argue back, you will find yourself penniless and homeless in no time.

Fourth, you are forced to work with people who may be absolute assholes and there's no escape.

Fifth, you take the stress of a job home with you and your mind is swamped with work schedules. so you cannot truly relax - ever.

Sixth, all of your freedoms are removed from the moment you leave school to the moment you retire. You are forced to work 8 hours per day - Monday to Friday - until your youth has gone forever. In fact, your freedoms are removed as soon as you start school.

Seventh, you are deceived into thinking that you are entitled to two days of freedom, but you are so stressed from the previous 5 days of slavery you just want to sleep in on Saturday. Then you spend Saturday night getting drunk to blot out your miserable existence. Sunday is spent sleeping in and feeling like shit from a hangover.

Eighth, constant toiling away and being handed heavy schedules age you prematurely, not to mention stressing the immune system.

Ninth, you cannot live a self sufficient lifestyle legally independent of the system because if you build a log cabin anywhere, so you can fish / hunt or grow crops for food, the system's henchmen will destroy your home and imprison you.

Tenth, you are a tax generating automaton who exists to swell the moneyboxes of the elite.

There you have it -- the big pink elephant is not staring you in the face from the far corner of the room, it is sitting on you and crushing you with it's enormous weight, yet the world is in collective denial over this very obvious fact. Why? Because slavery is all they understand.

That's why I hate the system and refuse to serve it.

There is NO QUALITY OF LIFE in the United States anymore and OP's statement says it all.

Wrong.

There is quality of life, in using nothing but plant-based medicine/soap/lotions/shampoos.... using only PURIFIED reverse osmosis filtered water.

You can have the best quality of life, if you just save up (or have a roommate or loved one help you) to purchase these "expensive" quality of life boosters.

Increase you nutrition, increase your awareness, increase your activities that help improve your life, not drinking alocohol/beer EVER (that helps destroy quality of life)

Look at the Amish people. SOLUTION!

You build these things as a child, living in parents' community.

Once you've grown up, you have all these things, because of your hard work.

Build your own greenhouse plant only non-gmo Heirloom seeds, dome-home, and well.. build/use your own filtration.

The STATE should never be giving these things out to ILLEGALS crossing our borders, and all of our taxes should be null and void until we as Americans can stand on our two feet again.

Dear Fuck it,

What a wonderful post, one of the best I've ever read here. I am in the UK, and I could have written every word you did, but you said it better. I sat here nodding my head all the way through it.

I am currentlx out of work too. Believe me, if I could be self-sufficient, I would. What the hell can you do in this country? Everything I tried to do is verboten or made impossible by the bureaucrats. I now HATE the whole rotten slavery system. I never used to be like this. It has got to go - what chance has anyone got to be happy under such conditions? We are worse off than animals, and no I'm not being funny.

Hey who doesn't hate the system, get used to it buddy.

My advice, try finding a job you actually enjoy, it makes things a whole lot easier.

I took 8 month holiday last year because I could and just relaxed, quite honestly it gets boring and anti-social pretty quickly, there are REASONS the system has been designed. One of them is to handle our human psyche, since very few of us can cope without a routine.

Give the general populous a tonne of money and no need to work, I bet you they end up drinking themselves stupid or taking on some other kind of bad habit. The system to an extent isnt all bad, just a lot of it is.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9761298

It's to overwork/occupy you and drain all your physical and emotional energy so that you don't have time to question the way the system is operating nor figure out ways to change & revamp it.
 Quoting: ANHEDONIC

Exactly. And they want people to drink alcohol/beer on the weekends instead of getting together and vaporizing/eating raw cannabis and reversing brain damage, to figure out how we're getting raped and to mitigate or stop it.

Okay...Maybe this will help...I believe it is about the FLOW of money...so get out there and make it flow. Flow counts even in small amounts. I am educated and I like jobs that are simple with little stress. And to simplify the worst case working scenario...remember...show up, shut up & collect a check.

Why do so many people think that life owes them something, or even owes them anything?

I have the same problem, but I don't understand why I have this bias.

Somewhere down inside myself I know that life is red in tooth and claw, but that is buried pretty deep down.

More realistically, life is like the game 'king of the mountain' where everybody and everything is trying to climb over everybody and everything trying to get on top and stay on top. It's this way for bacteria and viruses, worms and insects, and animals and humans also.

Get a job and work you slave!

That's all this world is now

You work to pay your tax of life

Everything is taxed except their use of your money

All your taxes go where? Fake programs like road upkeep!

It's all a scam to the max that you can never escape

Start a business some say? I say fuck you! Work double the hours and pay more than triple the tax just so your reptilian brain can say. I'm the fucking boss of me! Lmfao. What a joke being self employed is! Jump through the hoops little monkey is all being your own boss is!

Maybe being an owner was great at one point when there where loop holes and opportunities. But no more! They closed almost all loop holes. The only loop hole now is to fuck you fellow humans.

This is a disgusting planet filled with greed and corruption!

I almost completely agree Op, but you can have your piece of fun in a job by mucking about, advise others in problems who are not so well-to-do, annoy those who you deem as primitive functions/wankers, post funny little messages or pointless anecdotes on the company message board... they might not be funny to them, but at least they cheered you up. Become the complete jester while still getting your job done, allow people to think you are crazy, but know you are more crazy than they are. Find things to "acquire" in the workplace which might of cost you a bit of money. If they sack you for any reason, you can always drop back on the Rock an Roll, and just try and steady along while at least having free time.

Fuck all those cunts anyway, companies, bosses and all the rest of those suck-up, give me all the overtime types, golden boys, office perfectos, lip-stick Janes in skirts with high noses and any other wannabe mortgage paying wimps. I find them hilarious.

Although our system now is easier on the body than toiling in the fields all day to grow your own food, it definitely has its drawbacks.

It is absolutely better than the lord english Feudal lord / serf system of the middle ages.

We have it much better in the civilized world than the 2 billion+ currently that dont have clean water and grovel or a piece of bread.

You dont live in say communist Cuba or NK so feel lucky there.

Sounds like you are just suffering from Job related stress, and if so do something about it.

Create and run your own business.

I did that 25 years ago almost as soon as I got out of college, and although sometimes its tough, there is nothing like the freedom you have when you are self employed.

On top of that you can write off everything under the sun
on your taxes.

I even know one woman that currently makes a lot of $ buying stuff at swap shops and selling it on Ebay.
