Dreams and ambitions are a good start. But, having those things, you still need a plan and the intention to make it real. Or, you can go drink beer or anesthetize yourself for the rest of your life.

My suggestion is that you make it a personal goal to learn Spanish very well. It will have a lot of good side effects; your job potential will increase; you will meet new people. It is compatible with whatever job you have; it can be done after hours. Expect to spend 20 years at it.
