Within the last 2 or so years, I have made some very good money doing this for people moving to the Ozarks. Most of these people have money, and alot of it. A few weekends ago I was installing a rain water catchment system for this man for a huge detached garage he had built on his property, he had a very impressive collection of cars, including 2 Ferrari's, and a 57 Chevy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2146937 Not just him. I've done alot of work for newer farm owners, all of these people had a seemingly endless supply of money to spend, and wanted work done in a hurry. I have noticed alot of nicer cars driving around too, especially younger college aged girls driving expensive suv's. It appears there are alot of wealthy people moving out here. Remember this is an area where the average income is around 30k for most people, and many people are unemployed, so it stands out. Its also close to New Madrid. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69586076 United States 11/10/2016 09:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The price of land in Northwest Arkansas has risen in price quite steadily for the past few years. $10,000 per acre is not uncommon and that is in the smaller towns outside of Bentonville. Bentonville is changing rapidly too. Lots of East coast folks who work as vendors for Walmart have moved in and driven the price of housing through the roof. I've talked with builders and the median new house is $450K. The developers will come in and purchase a perfectly good house on a small city lot for $200K and not blink an eye while demolishing the house. Next they will build a four unit high-end apartment building and sell each unit for $750K. and the buyers will not blink because they can easily afford it. The folks who have lived in Bentonville for years are in a catch 22 problem. They can sell they houses for mega bucks but then they cannot afford to purchase a new house. Even in Bella Vista the price of forty year old houses are going high. Median price is around $150K for a 1200 sq/ft house. Lots of folks are moving to this area but if they don't have the money for a house they will find it hard to afford to live here. Now if you want to move to the north central part of Arkansas where there is no infrastructure, then you can get acreage and a house of a reasonable price. But who wants to live in Eureka Springs or Harrison. |

It's around 2500 sq ft and 3 acres. I think the local population is about 700 or so. Of course, all my neighbors are cows. I fired off a round about 2 this morning to disperse some noisy cayotes. If you fly, there is a very close small airfield., 1 mile to the Arkansas River where you can catch catfish, winter or summer, I guess. You can fly your confederate flag from your pickup and feel right at home. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |
