...Gilbert AZ here. My husband and daughter are outside having a snow ball fight!  Quoting: SkinnyChic Snowball fight in Arizona...I LOVE it! Are the streets covered too? Thin layer by me. It was raining all day...before the snow and hail came...so the stuff hitting the street melts right away. But everything on the grass is still lasting. I am originally from the Midwest. it's weird to have a white backyard in Arizona! I just saw on CNN pictures of cacti covered in snow, is this normal? No its not! I just saw that you are having some bad weather in Australia too! Synoptic Situation: At 10am AEST Thursday, a low pressure system was located off the southeast Queensland coast, about 385km east-southeast of Brisbane, and was moving slowly to the southwest. The low is expected to cross the northern coast of New South Wales during Friday. Dangerous surf, and possible beach erosion, is expected to continue along the exposed coast between Cape Moreton and the New South Wales border. Locations that may be affected include the Moreton Bay Islands, and the Gold Coast. Damaging winds, with peak gusts of up to 100km/h are forecast to develop about the coast and ranges south of Cape Moreton and east of the Great Dividing Range this afternoon and may continue into early Friday.
