We all of us are responsible for this and all the other pain and suffering we cause on this planet. TPTB are just a reflection of us without us they could not do shit. Every day we have choices, every day we can think about what we do what we buy etc. every day depending on the choices we make we either inflict more pain or suffering or help alleviate itj just a bit. We are too selfish, too me me , to change. We blame others but they did not force us to buy the shit we buy. They did not force us to add to the pain. Speak for yourself. Some of us changed our ways years ago. Or we were raised that way. Most of the carp out there is corporate. |

It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1250796 humans are scum, but you're an idiot |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11963746 This problem has been around for many decades, but the birds seem to be thriving, overall. Sad, yes, but why are some birds stuffed with plastic garbage while others are doing seemingly fine? maybe some have the genetics to avoid eating the garbage. a bit of a natural slection occuring. this is what I thought, in theory as long as they are not all dying then evolution should quickly prove that the ones that figure out now to eat will only survive and then none will eat again. this is very interesting to me, if anything pos could come of this, then it is that we are creating a smarter bird maybe Stuff and goodies... |
R3B2 User ID: 34185911 United States 02/21/2013 10:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have no reason to think highly about myself. I'm just a consumer like everybody else. Some of that garbage in those bird might very well be mine. Or yours - or anybody elses in here. The day we are standing in front of the gates of heaven - this is what we must answer for. I'm not looking forward to that! I see you feelings about this are very selfless and I can admire that completely. Having said that you might want to keep your chin up a bit. Just saying. Its really not that bad out there. Get out every now and then you might like it outside of your digital world. hope you have a great day. Humanity will surprise you when you least expect it. Great attitude R3B2!! There's more 'wonder' in the first 10 feet beyond your front door, if you care to really look, and find it, than all the digital channels combined. I think that this year folks will start to see more value in people, rather than profit or things. Emotional banks, and not money banks, after all, there is no money now a days anyway, it's all virtual. But people are real, and helping another person goes a long way to creating a 'bank' of good ideas, and support, that does so much more than lending money to buy another useless item, that requires the corporation who makes it, to make fore ever greater profits, which forever keep treading on people and small busines to achieve that. The best thing about an emotional bank, which could take the form of advice, community help, man power, or just emotional support to get people going on their own steam again, is that it cant be taxed, doesnt require endless rising profit, and can grow infinately large, or be as small as two people. This is what is feared by those who seek control. The mechanisms of control meaning nothing to people any longer, and as such, cant be controlled. Wont happen over night - but it will happen! I wake up every day thanking my lucky stars that I not only live in the US but I live in this day and age. Its about to get even better. Puts a smile on my face when I look at my kids after watching a Syrian Bombing happen on live leaks. Thank you to my for fathers for giving me a place to at least feel free even though its getting tougher and tougher to say that. Best Regards, Reb |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1616631 United States 02/21/2013 11:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This no-care attitude is pervasive throughout the USA. I see it along the sides of roads where people dump their garbage down the sides of hills. Or at stop lights, where piles of cigarette butts collect until kingdom come. Or they leave their fishing bait containers, line, rusty hooks, broken bottles, etc for little kids to cut themselves on or animals to accidentally ingest. It's the hell with you, hooray for me attitude...not many people care these days or are at least too busy to care. |

The Tsunami debris headed towards the mainland is phenomenally humongous. For as far as the eye can see at 25K to 30K feet....a sea of debris in all directions. Incredible. Ever piece of plastic ever produced is still in tact. It's a worse global disaster than Nuclear or Chemical. Added together, all three, and it's a death sentence for all living species......including us eventually. Last Edited by USCG Popeye on 02/21/2013 11:50 PM |

New York City has met the terms of its agreement to stop transporting and dumping its sludge in the ocean by June 30, 1992, marking a cessation of this practice by all cities in the nation. "The main objective of the federal Ocean Dumping Ban Act of 1988 has been realized--we have stopped dumping sewage sludge into the ocean," Reilly said. [link to askville.amazon.com] |

That year, the City of Brotherly Love dumped 4,000 tons of incinerator ash on a Haitian beach, where it sat for more than 10 years polluting the local environment and causing myriad public health problems. A year later, the infamous garbage barge from Islip, Long Island in New York, sailed down the east coast looking for a site to unload. Industry giants can impact elections with their campaign contributions and, as a result, legislation that affects them. Consider the case of Virginia. Between 1997 and 2000, the trash industry donated nearly $400,000 to Virginia candidates. During the same period, bills that would have stunted the trash industry’s growth died in the Virginia legislature, while bills to protect its markets became law. In 1999, out-of-state garbage flowing to Virginia increased by 43% as compared to the previous year. [link to www.ilsr.org] |
