This is really weird. Look on the sat view of Google earth, and notice where the roof entrance is in relation to cisterns.

It looks like she would have to come out the door and make a complete U-turn to get to them. You can't see them at all when you enter the roof area. Plus, it also looks like the roof is only about a foot wide, where she would walk to get to those water tanks.

It doesn't look like it would be very easy to carry a body over that roof.

I wonder now if she wasn't hiding up there for some reason.

uh oh, she's the daughter of a triad boss, somebody done fucked up.

I now submit 2 videos of people having a fucking blast on Hotel Cecil's rooftop in hopes to crush the talk about there being 'only one way to access the rooftop'.

There are 3 external fire escapes attached to the Hotel Cecil, all with access to the rooftop. You can see the fire escape ladders popping up, over, and on to the roof in a quick search of google images or an address search using gargle maps.

Also, it seems there may be no alarm in place on the doors leading to the fire escapes of Hotel Cecil.

Woke up from a dream with her in it.

Someone told her it would make a good isolation/deprivation tank and then took her up on the rooftop. She had a thing for "rooftops". Loved the view from them. She then managed to find her way to the water tanks, and went in one. Nobody put her in there after she died. She died in one. She realized once she was in she couldn't get out and of course nobody could hear her and eventually died of shock.

The only thing that makes sense to me after watching that video a few times is that it's been edited. Wouldn't it be easy to edit out other people in the video? When she's gesturing with her hands, there could easily be someone right in front of her, and they could edit the person out with a static image of a door as seen in the background. Another poster mentioned that the shadows/"ghosts" in the elevator are very odd - I think something in the elevator might have been edited, too. It's obvious that something was done to the footage.

The video's definitely been edited. People / large animals (ha?) have been removed, and what we're left with is totally inexplicable behavior or a grown woman with a lot of imaginary friends. Editing would explain the paranormal "fog" as well!

Someone shut down the elevator so she could not leave floor and had to wait for her to leave it because of the camera. Once she was far enough away they closed it so she could not get back in and killed her. Someone from the hotel had to be in on it.

Good point about editing going on, its a possibility that would explain some strangeness. However, several people on ytube said cctv? is on a motion sensor. If true, that would explain the gaps. How long would they have records of video going back? This case was quite cold and old. Did gaps happen at times that don't fit the motion sensor scenario?

AS far as her being in control of the elevator, I would think some research on that Otis model might easily clarify if she stopped the elevator or not. Pushing all those keys and such. Besides an emergency stop, I think you have other key(s) to temporarily hold door open.

Agreed, but all her muscles would relax, and anything in her digestive tract would be excreted out her oriffices into the water supply, including all her urine and feces.

Quite possibly; I wonder the water level in these tanks; because if they are a few feet short of the service enterence she went into, maybe she could no tread water hard enough to reach the hole to pull herself out.

Then it was just time, enough time for her to tire out, because sinking to the floor would drown her, treading water would exaust her. I guess she got tired and drown; if it had been 2 weeks, that's along time; I'm curious how long she might have survived in the tank if it was just because she couldn't get out?

Maybe she was only dead for week, after living in there for a week?

I also wonder how the cover of the tank was when the maintenance guy looked at it; was it bolted or locked shut? Open completely? Closed, but not locked?

I believe someone was overriding the door so it wouldn't shut so she couldn't get away from them. She was hitting every floor just to get the door to shut so she could get off that floor. I would look at maintenance employees and I believe there was more than 1 murderer involved.

You always have to watch for the maintenance and even other employees....also construction workers if there are renovations going on. But from what I've read, the Cecil is in a bad area.

I once stayed at a hotel near La Guardia airport in New York. As I was signing in, I noticed one of the bellhops staring at me. I remember he looked Middle Eastern. He must have looked at what room I signed into when I walked away from the sign in sheet to the elevator.

That night, I received a phone call...a man's voice...lewd language...broken accent. I hung up. He called again....same thing. I called the front desk and asked if there were any outside calls made to my room. The operator said, "No." I just left the phone off the hook after that.

I assumed it was that bellhop. I barely slept that night.

as it gets completely ignored in the other thread (elisa lam - tb outbreak?), i post it here again.

At first she looks like she is trying to hurry away from someone. Hides in corner. Keeps looking out. Then it did seem like she was talking to someone. Whole thing is strange..including why it took the doors so long to close?



It seems like for whatever reason she pushed the STOP button...It would not take a working elevator that long to close..

So sad, this story is so sad! RIP Eliza. And just thinking of drinking that water makes me a bit green right now.

In addition to possibly being an employee of the hotel or maintenance worker, I'm thinking it could very well be one of the long term tenants.

They would know about the tanks on the roof, and could have had access.

And in the things I've read they say that the long term residents have access to the other parts of the building rather than just their own areas. The hotel's website is deceiving. Even though they have to have a certain number of rooms for long term tenants, if they wanted to they could make certain floors passkey accessible only and renovate those floors and keep their tourist & business guests safer.

Also just thinking about some of the things put out in the thread:

If she were drunk or drugged there is no way she could have climbed up the latter to those tanks herself. just think of a time you've been drunk enough to possibly do that, could you have climbed up a couple of high step ladders, that go straight up...not even leaning a bit I'm sure (like the oil refinery tanks I would think)? If you've never been drunk, just think about the worst sickness you've had where you are woozy as anything and unable to think or move in the way you want to. Thinking of that there is no way she could have climbed up there herself. If she had been drunk or drugged.

And if she had managed to do it, there is no way she would have picked a back tank (in the video they are looking at the back tank). I mean really, I would pick the most accessible tank to climb, wouldn't you?

It does look like she is trying to get away from someone, and hiding. And when she steps out of the elevator it looks like she is doing Ti Che or sign language.

In an article someone from her hometown said that she was the friendliest person they knew. This could have gotten her in trouble in the area of the hotel.

I don't know if the person or people that did this wanted Eliza found, I mean a water tank probably is the least attended place in a building, just water tested and chemicals added and nothing else done to it...unless there is a problem with water pressure. Though from the reviews on the travel sites it sounds like the water pressure thing has happened before. That makes me wonder if this hasn't happened before.

In regard to the edited video, could the police have edited out the person/people of interest when the doors opened on the different floors so that they would not know that they were suspects? Since there isn't proof of them/him doing anything they have to get their ducks in a row before they do anything.

Also the time in the video where she is signing/doing ti che where some people have said she is saying something about computer friend the police are probably looking into her meeting anyone, though someone that knows sign language and is sure might want to let the police department know what they think she is saying so that they can look into it if they haven't yet.

Since the hotel has the history it has I could see someone that is aspiring to be like the mass murders that lived there, wanting to live at the hotel. And maybe taking the horrid step into the previous peoples shoes.


And the TB thing is interesting. The synchronicity is uncanny,the universe sends warnings, or possibly something more sinister has happened...

Not going to let my conspiracy freak flag fly here too much but wonder who the computer friend is. If that is what she was doing, letting us know to look through her computer files. If so you brave and clever girl, way to go.

It's like something from the movie The Shining, maybe Richard Ramirez was possessed by something evil in that hotel.

Maybe the girl in the elevator isn't Elisa Lam but a cult member who used that name and purposely did this in the elevator as a decoy. The body in the water tank might be someone else.

Would a tenant put a dead body in the water tank knowing that they have to shower in that water? I would look at someone who works there but doesn't live there or have need to use the water there.
