When I was at school and around the age of 14, I remember kids my own age constantly talking about girls in the same year or the year beneath us and how much they'd love to 'bum' them, i.e., ass fuck them.

He's a 13 year old boy, he's young and naïve.
At that age all boys are experimental and he didn't think or know about how bad it was.
