I have been reading The Imitation Of Christ.

It is a comparison between earthly life and eternal life

Briefly, use this life to gain eternal life in heaven
If you value all these earthly things, it is all passing, not of eternal value

In this book it impressed me this....
Suppose a person has no thoughts on the eternal life and lives as he wants on earth, even if he becomes rich and famous.
It can all be taken away from you in an instant,
Or you can die and of what use was all your fame and riches

And if you end up in hell, you will be so miserable that you won't even remember the pleasures you had for that brief time you had on earth

So, use your life on earth not for earthly riches but to store up heavenly riches
