Exactly the point !! When I first posted that letter, that was my main concern - HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD BECOME UNEMPLOYED !!! But it sure got sidetracked into a religious thing. IT'S ABOUT THE ECONOMY and what Obamacare is doing to it !!!

Why don't they sell it to some rich heathen? At least keep the doors open and the employees working.

This is their legal right to do so. I like their products, but they are not a church. I will miss going there, but there are other places to get similar products.

Yeah, well their "Christian principles" apparently haven't filtered down to their management in the stores. My brother was working part time at another store and answered an ad from Hobby Lobby for employment opportunities. They were opening a new store. My brother was one of 64 out of 1400 people selected to help them get the store ready to open. They told these employees that if they displayed excellent skills, worked hard, they would be hired once the store opened. And this was back-breaking work, building shelves, hefting 300 pound displays around, etc. These people all killed themselves.

So the day comes when the store is set up and those who are being hired permanently are to be called to the office to be informed. My brother overhears the store mgr talking to an asst mgr, saying, "when should we drop the bomb on these people?". They weren't hiring any of them, never intended to hire any of them. They told them that to get them to work extra hard to get the store set up, they were bringing in employees from other stores for the perm jobs.

Many of these people, my brother included, gave up other paying work to get a shot at these jobs. He hasn't been able to find anything since that. I hope they DO close their GD stores. Lying fucking POS's. Christian principles include lying and screwing with people's lives? Buy the abortion pills and stfu you hypocrites!

I am royally pissed. I'm a professional artist and Hobby Lobby is my sole supplier. Michael's is trash, they do not cater to artists like HL does. I fucking can't stand Obama. I. Hate. His. Fly. Covered. Guts.

This is a tragedy. A lot of people will be out of work and for what? As the letter says, all the cronies have been exempted from this "trainwreck" but no exemption will be made for Hobby Lobby.

Did you even read the OP? They've been starting their employees at $13.00 to $14.00 and hour for the last couple of years! Compare that to one of their competitors (whom I used to work for) who started people about 42 cents above minimum wage.

They're one of the few companies that actually do seem to care about their employees. Granted, it's retail, and nobody's going to get rich working for them, but that isn't the point.
