No. They are not freely elected. The election system is totally rigged. Has been for some time. And they are ALL in collusion to achieve the same objective. Even the "good" ones like Ron Paul dare not speak the truth about what's really going on in Washington. Guys like him are just controlled opposition.

Truly, the worst part of it all is the knowledge that most Americans will not allow themselves to see our government for what it really is. The reality of our situation is just too horrific for them to accept. I've tried, they will not listen.

Bottom line is... we are fucked.

Best case scenario... complete collapse. If our society does not collapse the alternative is not good to say the least.

I played sports in school; Football, Baseball, Wrestling, but I can't understand the overwhelming preoccupation with the gladiatorial events by grown adults.

The only thing I can even closely relate it to is "Bread and Circuses", which have obviously accomplished their mission of distracting and occupying the populous while the country is torn apart from the inside by the very people who have been supposedly entrusted with it's keeping.

Now, where did I read about this happening before?

LOL! You are correct about that! When I'm at work I overhear these chuckleheads talking about sports all the time. I ask them who owns the federal reserve and "our" money. None of them have any idea. They've never even heard of the NDAA. Domestic armed drones... yeah, right. Police state... you're crazy! I try to explain to them and even give them resources to better understand the situation, other than my word alone. They... will... not... listen.

And as far as you and I being OK, if "they" achieve their objective we will not be safe ANYWHERE.

Sure people run to it. My earlier post regarding "Bread and Circuses" makes a strong play for their limited attention span.

Now add in the "Let them eat cake" portion entailed within free phones and the other associated/ related government freebies - most could not care less what actually happens in Washington as long as they're getting their "stuff", or at least BELIEVE they will get it.

With this sort of mindset, a government can promise more and more freebies, while implementing more and more controls in order to sway, outweigh, and confuse the opinions of the majority.

This is no different than a carrot on a stick held in front of an ass. The carrots are in place and on our dime - the asses are more and more prominent every day.
