Exploring Schumann Resonance - Is it Changing?
What exactly is Schumann Resonance?

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

The Schumann resonances (SR) are a set of spectrum peaks in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth's electromagnetic field spectrum. Schumann resonances are global electromagnetic resonances, excited by lightning discharges in the cavity formed by the Earth's surface and the ionosphere...

Schumann resonances occur because the space between the surface of the Earth and the conductive ionosphere acts as a closed waveguide. The limited dimensions of the Earth cause this waveguide to act as a resonant cavity for electromagnetic waves in the ELF band. The cavity is naturally excited by electric currents in lightning. Schumann resonances are the principal background in the electromagnetic spectrum[1]...

In the normal mode descriptions of Schumann resonances, the fundamental mode is a standing wave in the Earth–ionosphere cavity with a wavelength equal to the circumference of the Earth. This lowest-frequency (and highest-intensity) mode of the Schumann resonance occurs at a frequency of approximately 7.83 Hz, but this frequency can vary slightly from a variety of factors, such as solar-induced perturbations to the ionosphere, which comprises the upper wall of the closed cavity...

Dependence on global lightning activity

From the very beginning of Schumann resonance studies, it was known that they could be used to monitor global lightning activity. At any given time there are about 2000 thunderstorms around the globe.[25] Producing ~50 lightning events per second,[26] these thunderstorms create the background Schumann resonance signal.

Re: Exploring Schumann Resonance - Is it Changing?
The Schumann Resonance has been called the Earth’s heartbeat, because every living thing has grown up with this pulse or tone going on in the background. In fact, not having it can cause physiological problems, as NASA found out when monitoring astronauts in orbit. Now, there is a frequency generator on each space craft to mimic the ‘heartbeat’.

It seems, however, that the frequency of this ‘heartbeat’ is changing slightly. (Bear in mind, however, that the resonance has only been monitored for less than 50 years.)

And that is what some people are becoming interested in...

Changes in the Schumann Resonance, whether they are temporary or something more permanent, could be the cause of changes in you and your environment.

Some people can be very sensitive to extremely small changes in electrical fields (indeed, dowsers have been proved to show such sensitivity) and that can cause uncomfortable symptoms.

Then there is the wider area of the changes happening in the earth and what they might alter in the physical and subtle energy bodies, not only of us but of animals and plants.

Then again, there is the whole question of how this is affecting the non-human, non-visible areas of our world and the answers become even harder to see.

In a nutshell, if the Schumann Resonance is changing, by however small a degree, it is bound to have an effect upon you and your environment. Those effects might be small, or they might be much larger. You might be more or less aware of them yourself, but the plain truth is, it is already having an effect!

Re: Exploring Schumann Resonance - Is it Changing?
Wow, this is a great article!

In 1973, Miller, Webb and Dickson described DNA as a holographic projector (see "Embryonic Holography"). In other words, genes encode and express themselves via light and radio waves, or acoustical holography (see "Quantum Bioholography", Miller, Miller and Webb, JNLRMI , 2002).

Delocalized interference patterns create calibration fields (blueprints) for our bodies' space-time organization. The system works as a biocomputer - a wave biocomputer. DNA can also function as a gel-like liquid crystal, emitting a weak laser-like light that can be converted into an electro-acoustic signal.

In conclusion, Miller and Miller postulate, along with others that,

1. The organization of all biological systems is established by complex electrodynamic fields. We are fundamentally electromagntic, rather than chemical beings. Wave interaction is a key determinant of biological structure and optimal functioning. Biosystems are sensitive to natural and artificial electromagnetic fields. Perturbations in environmental fields can induce changes in organisms informed by those fields. Field frequencies and amplitudes affect our biodynamic state.

2. ELF frequencies of Schumann's Resonance are intimately linked with those of human brainwaves. Natural or artificially induced changes in SR could affect subtle and perhaps gross brainwave generation. In particular, it could lead to changes in patterns and frequencies of resonance and resulting phenomena such as homeostasis, REM, PSI, and healing.

For a decade, Robert Beck researched the brain wave activity of healers from all cultures and religious backgrounds (he enumerates psychics, shamans, dowsers, Christian healers, seers, ESP readers, kahuna, Santeria, wicca practitioners and others). Independent of their belief systems, each exhibited "nearly identical EEG signatures" during their "healing" moments: a 7.8-8Hz brainwave activity, which lasted from one to several seconds and which was "phase and frequency-synchronized with the earth's geoelectric micropulsations - the Schumann resonance". (Sidorov, JNLRMI)

3. Liquid crystals (DNA, brain ventricles, and cellular structures) in the human body may operate as antennae for detecting and decoding such global and local ELF signals. Beal (1996) proposes that liquid crystals (which are an intrinsic part of cell membranes) act as a detector/amplifier/memory storage device for ELF EM patterns in the environment. Proteins, tend to orient themselves in the 10-Hx resonant EMF, so would be extremely sensitive to ELF changes in the 10Hz region. A coherent wave-field may emerge from the body's own liquid crystal (LC) matrix.

The very structure and organization of living tissues is, however, itself regulated by that master molecule, the DNA. The genetic system (consisting, to be more accurate, of an equidirectional translation function which may start equally well with DNA, RNA or protein) reveals itself as a complex, multidimensional code with both local (codon) and global (context), material (nucleotide) and field-like (EM hologram) parameters, all of which are mutually interdependent and at the same time subject to external, environmental influences. (Sidorov, JNLRMI)

4. There is a strong correlation between behavioral disturbances in humans and periods of solar and geomagnetic field turbulence. Conversely, studies show that subjects living in isolation from geomagnetic rhythms over long periods of time developed increasing irregularities and chaotic physiological rhythms - which were dramatically restored after the introduction of a very weak 10Hz electrical field. Early astronauts suffered until SR generators were installed in their spacecrafts.

Geomagnetic anomalies (tectonic strain, earthlights, geomagnetic field perturbations) can induce some forms of anomalous cognition - such as auditory and visual hallucinations, and TLTs (temporal lobe transients or small seizures). Also, one of the effects of meditation is to "quiet the mind" as a method of allowing the "free-run" (or silent thalamic periods) to become entrained by natural geophysical rhythms. This form of tuning or "magnetoreception" is mediated by the pineal gland (30% of its cells are magnetically sensitive) and organic magnetite-containing tissues.

Persinger (1989) points out that deep temporal lobe activity exists in equilibrium with the global geomagnetic condition. When there is a sudden decrease in geomagnetic activity, there appears to be an enhancement of processes that facilitate PSI reception, especially telepathy and clairvoyance. Increases in geomagnetic activity may suppress pineal melatonin levels and contribute to reductions of cortical seizure thresholds. Indeed, melatonin is correlated with temporal lobe- related disorders such as depression and seizures. (Krippner)

5. Optimal global ELF (calm night; low sunspot activity; low em pollution) conditions can facilitate anomalous cognitions, including PSI such as ESP, remote viewing, and remote healing.

[P]si is always present in space and time, waiting to be accessed by crisis, emotion, or by optimal laboratory stimulus parameters. Geomagnetic activity may affect the detection capacity of the brain for this information, especially the neural pathways that facilitate the consolidation and conscious access to this information. Without this geomagnetic activity, awareness of the PSI stimulus might not be as likely and the brain's "latent reserve capacities" would not be utilized.
(Krippner)

6. Sidorov (2001) and others have suggested that human intent functions as a variable window of transmission/reception in the exchange of extrasensory information, possibly within the range of ELF electromagnetic frequencies. Brain synchronization with Schumann's Resonance of both sender and receiver facilitates PSI, or "therapeutic entrainment," amplifying, re-radiating coherent waveforms derived from the environment, simulating the wave pattern of the environment.

Sidorov further hypothesizes,

Brainvawes (particularly in the alpha range) can be transmitted along the perineural system (or via Frohlich excitation) to any distal parts of the body, and even to adjacent organisms, via ELF EM waves. These frequencies can be amplified by closely-related Schumann resonance waves, or by feedback mechanisms typical of the body's physiological pathways (akin to immunologic and neuroendocrinologic cascades). In turn, these basic frequencies can re-activate stalled healing processes, enhance growth, accelerate immune responses, and generally "jump-start" functions inherent to the body's tissues, by "rebalancing its energies" (according to Oriental medicine) or (in Beal's terminology) by re-configuring the liquid crystal orientation of cell membrane components and thus triggering specific intracellular responses.

In light of all of the above observations, we are proposing that the Schumann resonance may be the substrate for a radar-type extrasensory perception mechanism common to all living beings: like water bouncing off of rocks and other submerged objects, this non-specific frequency is absorbed and re-radiated in unique interference patterns by all objects it encounters; this interference pattern is a composite of external and internal properties, as the constituent atoms, molecules and their global assembly all re-transmit this energy according to their specific configurations (see Beal on biopolymers).

I wish I had a good web site to see data. Haarp magnetometer cuts off at 5 hz.

So what would happen to human perception if you increased the frequency of the schumann resonance?

I think the idea of losing the electrical grid would be devastating, but at the same time, it would put us back into the normal Schumann Resonance level. More in tune with Earth (?).

It is a harmonic of the schuman resonance... as is all music and the reason we hear the way we do. The reason we experience time as we do.

Or maybe Tesla upgraded us all ;-)

Re: Exploring Schumann Resonance - Is it Changing?
Thanks for the info, Star Man.

I lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia and the Schumann Resonance was off the charts even then [ 1984 ].

Pure waves of energy swirling about as people stood on the board walks. I don't think they had a clue as to what it was.

Edgar Cayce built his A.R.E. Center in Virginia Beach because he could feel the waves. Thousands of psychics travel to V. Beach each March to "ride these waves."

Is it possible this change in the Schumann Resonance is due to the result of the photon belt raising its frequency?

Intelligence is contagious. May I can continue to pick up the virus. ha ha.

Thanks. A greatful student.

Re: Exploring Schumann Resonance - Is it Changing?
Schumann resonances were named after the German physicist Winfried Schumann who first discovered them in 1952. Radiation from the sun ionizes part of the earth’s atmosphere and forms a conductive plasma layer, the ionosphere. The ionosphere surrounding our planet is positively charged relative to the earth’s surface, which carries a negative charge. This creates an electrical tension within the space between the earth and ionosphere. Every second, there are about 1000 lightening storms worldwide, which help to excite the Schumann resonances. Schumann resonances occur because the earth’s conductive surface and the lower boundary of the conductive ionosphere are separated by a cavity of nonconducting air that is acting as a wave-guide. The resonant frequencies of the earth-ionosphere cavity are in the ultralow frequency range (ULF) and extremely low frequency range (ELF).

Re: Exploring Schumann Resonance - Is it Changing?
OK, first the water bridge thread, now this!! hf
You're hitting all my favourite buttons OP.

Here's an interesting quirk within the name Schumann, of resonance fame..

In humans, the controlling clock component that generates a 24-hour rhythm is the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), located in a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. The SCN produces a signal that can keep the rest of the body on an approximately 24-hour schedule.

The SCN utilises the Schumann resonance as it's base line signal to perform this function.

SCHUMANN [scn human] Coincidence? Pretty cool in any regard.

A Kiwi scientist, Niel Cherry, has done a lot of research on this, and has quite a few web papers on multiple variations of how the Schumann resonance effects, regulates and has even changed how our minds work.

The vid above also mentions him, and shows the effects of shielding a person from the signal, which is quite devastating.

If you're in to expanding Earth theory, then part of that idea involves a smaller or larger Earth having a different resonant frequency. Those who dwell on it are effected either positively, or negatively by the new frequency, and either thrive, or die off.

Also mentioned in the above vid is that fact that much of the resonance has been blocked out, or turned in to harmonics that directly effects insects, birds and some mammals, and may be the cause of the die offs we have witnessed so much of recently.

Starting to think that shows like 'Revolution' are a good ways to go for Humanity. What we're doing now is certainly damaging our relationships with the planet, and all of its life.

We're being disconnected, either as a deliberate act, or by our own disinterest and lethargy.

As someone fascinated by the Schumann resonance for years, I've pondered whether we can ever really leave this world for long periods of time, or the reverse, if alien visitors can leave their own worlds or stay on ours. It forms a critical part of our inner workings, and the studies have shown we're a mess without it.

Great thread, again!

It almost seems the schumann resonance SHOULD change, the same way any living material organisms resonance changes in different periods of health, or growth, or dis-ease....

It's the reason time is speeding up it was a constant and was used as the most accurate way to measure time, the UK MoD did use it to measure time until it started speeding up.
It is estimated that we have only 16 of the old hours in a day.
