Re: Did Native Americans have access to the Bible?
Your kidding, right? The Native American children were stolen from their tribes and sent to CATHOLIC schools, their hair was cut, their were forbidden to talk their language, basically, there were painted to be WHITE. There is much history on this and all Native Americans I know are CATHOLIC from these very events.
I don't know anything about the CATHOLIC religion, besides the Pope is some kind of God and they worship Mother Mary, rather than Jesus.
Find the movie Into The West (I think that is it), gives a very detailed account of this. Nope, maybe it was Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee that more keenly portrays these events.
Yes, I think it is the Bury My Heart movie, but Into The West which is like a 6 CD movie series might also portray some of what happened to the natives, the ones that weren't killed, that is.
Please catch up on some of the history of this country, TY!

And if not.. Why not? We're they not important enough to be taught the ways of Jesus? I mean, if we're all God's children..wouldn't everyone have known about Him?
And would Christians of early American days have condemned them to Hell because they did not accept Christ as their savior, even though they knew nothing of him?

Please forgive my ignorance.. I'm just looking for answers

cheers

It is ironic, so called Christians saying "Hey, they aren't Christians, they worship MOTHER MARY, instead of Jesus!"

If you worship Jesus the person, OR mother mary, you BOTH miss the entire point.

Jesus was just the vehicle by which Christ Consciousness descended. The human vehicle is capable of receiving Christ Consciousness, ALL of us.

Jesus was not special. Not special in the way that he was an ordinary man, who had the consciousness of Christ descend into him. ALL men are capable of that. Jesus TAUGHT that he was NOT to be worshipped.

There is nothing Jesus attained that wasn't meant for ALL of us. That is CLEAR in the original message he gave.

You are correct, you don't.
Hollywood movies are not history.

Reading the writings and diaries of the missionaries would be accurate.

This is such an important statement! Most do not comprehend it. Christ and his apostles did preach/teach only the Jews. Christ told Paul that after He was resurrected that Paul was to begin teaching the gospel to the Gentiles.
The fact that Christ, after his resurrection came to the Americas and taught (well, essentially re-established, for they had it before but had fallen) the laminite/nephite peoples is an essential point in understanding that the native American peoples are indeed a remnant of the house of Israel.

From Genesis to Revelation the Bible is about God's
relationship with one people, Israel.

Jesus said He was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of Israel.

Who and where are those "lost sheep" ?

They are the vast majority of Israelites who were scattered
into Europe and Asia since the 8th century BC... scattered
first by Assyria, then by Babylon.

Only a small fraction of Israelites returned to Palestine
after the Babylonian captivity.

Those who call themselves "jews" today are not Israelites.
They are Edomites who lost a war with Israel and were forced
to "convert" in the 2nd century BC [forced "conversion" is evil
and it created an abomination, Edomite-jews.]

The vast majority of Israelites converted to Christianity
just as Jesus said they would: "My sheep hear My voice...
and they follow Me. "

.

" James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:
Greetings. "

James 1:1

Jesus sent His disciples to seek that which was lost...
God's sheep, Israel [in the Bible, "sheep" is a symbol
for Israel] the vast majority of whom were scattered into
Europe and Asia since the 8th century BC... since the
Assyrian and Babylonian captivities. And Jesus' disciples
did exactly that. St Andrew went East, to the Rus and Slavs
and first converted those Israelites to Christianity.

They didn't until ws stole their land. Tribes in the rainforest don't know about jesus either. This tells us you have all been had by the powers that be who run the Vatican
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26524413

They "lost" their land in the same way and for the same reasons the Jews did. They are promised to have it returned. They lost it through iniquity, just as the gentiles are now losing it through iniquity. Itis the price paid when a free nation forgets the Lord.

So that defeats the whole idea of the bible doesn't it?
In other words all these christians sitting there praying to this mythical being to save them are all wasting there time.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32447952

No, not wasting their time. The children of Israel are the lineage that Christ came from. They were given the gospel and truth first. They fell greatly because of iniquity and then the gospel and truth were sent out to the gentiles. We are all children of God.

Re: Did Native Americans have access to the Bible?
according to one native american legend the story goes like this. there was a small hunting party using out in the woods with bows and arrows because guns didn't exist at the time, they shot and killed a deer and when they where walking towards it a white man wearing white robes and blonde hair came out, they where not frightened but curious of this stranger, he went to the deer and placed a hand on it bringing it soon back to life. this man knew the tribes language and easily spoke to them. im not sure how the rest of the story goes but i believe i saw on a documentary explaining the different places god visited.

They didn't want any part of white devil culture.

North American Indians had complex established cultures by the time the white landed on this continent.

They had their own spiritual ways and it did include a belief in the Great Spirit.

One legend of a tribe; (cant remember the name) ; has it that a holy man from over the oceans visited their tribe and told of a man who died for them ..lll

The thing the North American Indians did wrong was

their inability to combine into one tribe for defeat

Tecumseh tried to combine the tribes but was not able

The constant tribal warfare over millennia made it impossible for him to

bridge old hatreds many tribes had for each other.

If Tecumseh was able to combine the tribes of North America, I would imagine

life would be different today.

So, does this play into why

the european aristocracy and church at the time went for the jugular

tried genocide on these peoples?

and then when a few were left , tried to indoctrinate them into white culture and put them

in prison camps and tortured their youth in so called

indoctrination schools??

Is this a reason why?

Jesus is the only way.
Prayerfully read Romans chapter 1; it explains that no one dies without a chance to know God.
There was an age of conscience; in the Old Testament the age of Law and sacrifices is described.
The New Testament clearly shows us that Jesus fulfilled all the laws and died to cover our sins. He made The Way to cover our sins. Verses 18-21 addresses the question of the "heathen" or the people before Christ who never had access to the Scriptures and to the knowledge of the Cross of Christ. They knew by instinct; God has put His knowledge in their hearts. Men knew God from the beginning. There is enough knowledge in conscience and in nature to induce an awe and reverence for the Creator. Now that the knowledge of the Cross has permeated the earth, no one has an excuse to be ignorant of the Cross, either.
God judges men by the light they have received. Anyone anywhere who has not received the knowledge of His salvation in our present age has no excuse. Those in the age of conscience and nature saw His revelation and no one has an excuse!

I know at least one religion believes that they knew historically, but that history was lost to them as their society deteriorated from sinful choices.

That same religion also believes that if you don't know in this life, that in the afterlife you will have the chance to learn of Christ and accept him there.

That goes for all peoples, nations, kindreds and in all tongues. Because salvation is for everyone and God is a fair and just God and that in order for him to be God he must follow the rules. The rules state you must accept him to be saved but I have never seen or heard any rule (other than opinion of self righteous christians) that says it has to be in this physical life. (and those same christians say it must be their way or else it doesn't count)

You will find that sometimes parts of the bible almost seem to contradict itself. It's a simple situation of a equals b but b does not equal a.

For example.

My mother is a good person.
A good person is not always my Mother, they can be anybody.

There is so much truth, you just need to separate the religion from the relationship.

Good Luck.

no matter how far-fetched this might sound, it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be true.

I look at it like this. Earth is a baby star factory and is unique in the sense that it DEVELOPS stars besides just spitting them out. So WHATEVER feels threatened will obviously want to bury the story and never let it get out. But the stars are learning how to fight back. NOW THE FUN BEGINS. But it won't be very entertaining. Can't have both. Edutainment is not a comfort some are allowed to have at this point in time

I didn't mean to quote those 1st 2 and have now edited them out. Maybe it's better with them in, as you quoted. [2nd amendment one, though--I don't have a gun personally, but do think there's a ton of hypocrisy about gun rights. or just hypocrisy about everything.]
Couldn't agree more about the lengths the comfortable will go to to 'bury the story'.
Kenny Chesney song was pretty- Thank you!

you are quite welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. I figured that based on your comments it was something you needed to hear at least once . Listen to this song. Even though it's about "blacks" in America, the concept can be applied to anybody

They "lost" their land in the same way and for the same reasons the Jews did. They are promised to have it returned. They lost it through iniquity, just as the gentiles are now losing it through iniquity. Itis the price paid when a free nation forgets the Lord.

yeah, they got punished, because they didn't follow all the rules.

the fact that they did not have the rule book doesn't matter.
